Custom - Transformers Siege Skywarp
It seems that lately I have more occasions to work on my customs, so after two shots with Studio Series, I proudly present to you something closer to G1 - my custom Siege Skywarp!
Siege Skywarp
Usually I am creating customs for my own collection but as my dear friend - Lemo - lately got interested in Siege, during one of our talks the idea was born to create a special custom - a unique birthday gift just for him. That's how this figure was born. I did not intend to copy the original design but instead do something a bit different and more in my style. This is how custom shaded, heavily weathered and highly detailed version os Skywarp came to be. The figure started its life as a basic Starscream mold but as you can see, now it is something completely different.
Alt Mode
I really like Siege take on the tetrajet, even though it is slightly different than the original concept. I wanted to keep this mode quite clean and relatively black. That's why the only purple accents are newly designed stripes and guns. The whole body is also shaded to break up the colours a bit, There is a heavy panel lining and some scuffs and scratches as well. You can see more details in the back of the figure, which is slightly more reminisent of the robot mode. I also pinned down the chest piece as it tended to get undone during transformation.
Robot Mode
Robot mode is something completely different than the tetrajet. Here I wanted to bring up the transformer and show all of its intricacies. That's why it has a number of copper and gold accents. There are also blue oversprays on the engine nozzles and null rays. Of course this mode is also heavily shaded, whethered and battle damaged, which makes the figure look much bigger than it actually is. I wanted to give an overall impression of the Skywarp but not just copy the G1, hence lots of improvements. I was not sure whether Lemo will like what I did with this guy but luckily he really enjoyed this figure and I hope it will be one of the pearls in his collection.
Thank you for stopping by and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask them and comment.
