Too bad there are no transformers figs like the warhammer ones, because I would be all over them like hot melt glue. I still haven't solved my mouse problem and the irritating nature of my ball mouse makes using my computer...irksome. this is not just for art, its HTML and other things too... really really irritating. We belive it is the cable of the mouse that is causing the problem, so we really just need to find a cheap usb mouse and change the cables. that should solve the problem--one would hope.

Saturday is a painting contest and I used to go into these contests a fair bit in the past and I often did well. Since I haven't gone into a painting contest in some years, I am not going in with any sort of hope of winning let alone placing. I do not know who I am up against. We shall see.

The Night goblins, if you are un familiar, are a bad race...as if you can't tell. they are evil, but they are hilarious most times. Goblin players do not go into a game expecting to win, hell no. You go in to see how your army dies. They may surprise you and wipe your opponent out, but that is just bonus.

They are plagued with a little thing known as animosity. that means they will squabble amongst themselves and do nothing. There was a time when they would actually charge another friendly unit and attack them.

About this figure.

This is a Night goblin shaman. They are the Magic users of the warhammer world. their magic can be pretty pathetic, at level 1 but the higher they go, the more interesting things can get. They are also weak characters to tend to die easily.

This figure is painted like the rest of my army, red hoods, blue cloaks how he is different is he has the yellow around his hood to match my archer unit. And one minor difference is he has red shoes. Most of my figures have black shoes. He is painted in bright colours so he appears to be more flamboyant; however, most of my goblin figures tend to use bright and rich colours.

Also a point worth noting, is out of boredom and because I am sick with some sort of cold, I woke up early the other morning and started to paint a wood grain on the staff. It seems to have turned out quite well.

So here are the pics.

That's fantastic work - I know the competition at these things is often stiff, but you've got to stand a good chance of placing with that. The highlight and shade work's beautifully done - you've evendone a good job on the red, and I think most people, myself included, find it a devil to get right. The woodgrain's really well detailed, too - if I didn't know better, I'd have thought it was sculpted on at first glance...

I used to play 40K, but haven't for about three or four years. I loved Orks, for the same reason you like Goblins, but Chaos was always my favourite army to play.
I still like to convert and paint figs occasionally, though. I developed the background for a new Space Marine chapter and converted a Chapter Master for them.

I probably won't be playing again for a while, though.

Fan-fecking-tastic. I don't think my very best would even come to a tenth of that. How'd you paint the grain on the wood so well?

OMG LOL!

Yeah, the little known secret about him is this is how he looks when he wakes up.

I placed top three, but I didn't win. Mind you, the competition was stiff.
