Me Grimlock not Pony Car, Me Grimlock LAND CRUISER! (Now with alt mode pics)

Grimlock, a 'Stang? Please. That's like Grimlock as a caribou. Grimlock goes for the T-Rex of whatever alt mode he gets... in this case, a big effin' SUV. First, he was a dinosaur. Now he guzzles them. The big G appreciates the irony.

He's made from the Happy Well Land Cruiser Roadbot, with milliput used to create the extra head protrusions and Tamiya paints used for the black, gold, and red. It's a shame that my camera can't take good enough photographs in the dark for the red electronic glow of his sword to show, and it's probably also impossible to see that he has Colorado plates. Why Colorado? Because the first T-Rex fossils came from there in 1874. Nevada was also in the running, since the Shockwave spotlight comic puts the fateful battle between him and the "Dynobots" there. This figure follows Grimlock's appearance in the War Within comics most closely, down to the creation of two distinct eyes from his knit brow.

I might create one more of these. What do people think of the chest detailing? Suggestions for improvement the second time around?

 :))

That's awesome.

And the kitbash looks nice. The choice of base figure gives him a really nice bulk, he actually looks right next to Optimus.

By Primus, he's HUGE! It's good to see a Big Grim who can stand nose to nose with MP Prime. I'd love to see a few comparison shots in SUV mode next to some alts (possibly rolling over them).
Since you mention it, the chest could be a little closer to his G1 form. It looks like it's mostly a matter of smoothing out the "headlights".
Is there room for him to have his wrist spikes? They would really complete the look.

That looks really badass but unless it's a T-Rex, it really isn't Grimlock to me. Though that doesn't take away from the awesomeness of the 'bash.

OMG...that is AMAZING! An SUV pic would be nice, but it looks freakin sweet

Alt mode pics for Grimlock! He dwarfs any Alternator and looks pretty imposing next to Prime. His four doors, hood, and trunk all open. Prowl boasts a more realistic interior, but Grimlock boasts the ability to run him over with impunity. Did anyone get the number of that SUV?

As mentioned, he's made from the Land Cruiser Roadbot. You can find him on this page:

http://www.agesthreeandup.com/?p2=shopp ... alog_id=91

They're cheaper than BBTS, although their shipping is slower. You can see how he already resembles Grimlock; you just need to sculpt the extra head protrusions, repaint him, and add stickers. He's not the most complicated kitbash I've attempted, but he's easily one of my favorites.

That's an incredible kitbash. It makes me want to run out and try the Roadbots for myself.
