Wow. Simply beautiful, and even the mini Scorponok figure is painted. XD Great attention to detail.

Wow that's pretty good... It looks more realistic with that shiny silver paint :)

That is awesome. Really one of the best out there. I want to do the same with mine now...

The guns are inverted though. Gatling gun goes on right hand.

Great! It makes me sad that the official version if so... average. A better paint scheme would have made all the difference, it even would have made up for his ridiculously small size.

I meant Bastard in the most light hearted way possible. Hell if I had the time I would probably do the same thing.

He gets the recognition because his were noticed early on so they set a standard. Now people are jumping on trying to do custom repaints and it will saturate the market to the point where people won't buy because they dont feel like its unique enough anymore.

Hardly. People have been doing re-paints and kitbashes for ages, jin isnt the pioneer.

He's only ever re-painted the movie toys, with the exception of one or two different tf toys, so if anything hes the one "jumping on".

Like i said i dont blame him for finding a niche and exploiting it as i would do the same (i am trying to). But although he is talented i dont see why he has to be looked up to as some god or pioneer or TF re-painting as he is far from it.

Infact i only found out about since the movie toy line and the movie itself was released, as that is when he started doing and posting his movie tf re-paints.

I'm specifically talking movie repaints, I know others have done it for a while, but as far as detailed movie repaints go he is the one making a name for it. You even did your ratchet based on his style.

Well duh. When someone repaints a figure to look exactly like the movie version, of course its gonna look the same as its all based off the same CGI render! I will admit i only decided to re-paint mine after i saw his, but i was curious to learn some new painting techniques anyway so it was more of a matter of good timing.

Besides, my movie ratchet ended up looking better as i included details he missed out, like a chrome H2 badge, black trim all the way down the bottom of the vehcile, black on the head and face areas, black paint applied to those little square bits on each side of the hood vents, red and black and silver on the tools that are mounted on each side of the roof etc etc. :P

For a first attempt id say i did really well.

Guys, gals, we're all friends here! I'm not looking to be revered or anything more than given a thumbs up. If there's anyone who's had the biggest hand in me making TF customs it's been David Willis of Shortpacked.com. He once said his Energon Shockwave was a great figure where I looked at and saw only a straight-armed, neon-green thing. That was my first TF repaint and it all started from there.

I didn't see any TF repaints on EBay at all and decided to have a go at it. My first sales, Bonecrusher and Scorponok, ended for hardly anything and the buyer even ended up not paying. That was a week before the movie hit. I relisted them like the day after the movie was released and ended up selling both for $700.00 each.

From then on it was Transformers custom maddness on EBay. I already had all most of the figures and had started customizing them at the request of fans, so I weas just lucky to get them on there first.

Blackout sold tonight for $3,400. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... :IT&ih=014

I was blown away. My new Barricade for $1,800. I can't say anything more than thank you Hasbro!
