EDIT: Color-corrected and enhanced the photos.

Hey guys. This is the first bash I've done that I'm not actually ashamed to post. Hope someone finds this helpful.

Image
This is, of course, movie Starscream. I was tired of the
sausage launchers, and decided to do something about it.

When I began brainstorming this kitbash, I was originally
going to use some rare earth magnets in conjunction with
the hands to this ancient Gundam Wing Zero 16" figure I have,
but browsing through the Lego section of a nearby Kmart,
I found something better to use; an Exo-Force kit!
(#8101, Claw Crusher).
Image
After Removing these three screws and his missile launchers,
I snapped two round connectors from the kit together, and
and placed them into the now-empty socket. Putting his arm
back together, I followed the instructions for the Exo-Force
kit concerning that robots hands and Gatling gun, and attached
it to ol' Screamer here
Image
You can't tell from the terrible photos, but there is a long
bar in the middle of his hands, which is what permits the
Gatling gun to stay in place.
Image
The guns are removable, and because of the simple connectors,
a huge amount of possibilities open up. Below is the only
salvageable Altmode pic. I just got the G1 Deco Starscream,
and a better cam, and will take step-by-step photos as I
progress.

Thanks for your time. Any hints (bash or photography) will
be helpful!

Back again guys!! This time we're doing the arm mod
on the Target G1 Deco Starscream! I was at my local TRU,
browsing, and saw they didn't have the Lego kit I used in my
original mod on the shelf, so I was reaching for another
Exo-force kit when I saw this guy:
They're called Neo-Shifters; Transforming Lego-men! They
go from ball, to robot, and back again! Anyway...

I figured it would work just as well, grabbed it, and headed
home. When I opened it up, I saw that I couldn't make use
of the round Lego Connectors...so I had to get creative.

First things first; this differs from my last mod in that
I've removed something like 95% of the original lower
forearm.
Image
To begin, I removed the screw at the first arm joint, as seen
above. Once that was done, off came the sausage launcher!
Image
The cool thing was, there was a hole in the Neo-Shifter's
arm where a socket connected, that would fit perfectly at
the site above. Only thing is, I had to cut way a small chunck
of the arm to get them to fit.

After

No modifications were made to the original launcher or it's
socket, just in case I want the autobots to feel Starscream's
meaty wrath. He he is, one arm connected.
Image
See the difference? I like the over-all slimming effect
myself. You see next to him, the second arm prior to assimilation.
Image
At this point, the sun began to set, so these last two are kinda crappy. The other interesting thing this kit included
was an arm-mounted missle launcher. It's pretty strong
and looks bad-ass.
Image
The arms are a much darker shade of gray than the body, so
a repaint is in the future. Altmode Time.

The hands can pop off, leaving open sockets. I'll scour around
and see if any of these kits come with a machine-gun deal
or something.

Until next time!
