I thought you guys might enjoy this. It was sculpted in wax and cast in resin for painting.
I'm thinking of making it available as a kit or finished statue.

That's very impressive stuff. Personally for the apparent scale (I'm not sure how big it is, but it looks a decent size), I'd like to have seen more detailing (as in vents, panel lines etc), but hell, it's a damn sight better than anything I've ever sculpted.
I can definitely see people going for this. Although be careful regarding sales - Hasbro may or may not stamp you down if you're trying to sell this, dependent largely on whether or not they have plans to do something similar, or someone else has the license to do it (I'm not sure if Palisades or anyone has already done a Rodimus Prime statue...).

By the way, what's the base made from - is that a wax sculpt as well, or constructed from found parts?

Very nice work, what sort of price would you charge for a fully completed version?

Ramrider, the panel lines and detail are minimal because I was going for a very faithful interpretation of the animation. In my opinion, the mass produced statues already on the market just never did the original characters justice. They are competently sculpted, but looked just looked blocky and lifeless.

Also this was my first experiment at carving wax and I wanted to concentrate on capturing the sleekness of the design, first and foremost. I intend for later sculpts to grow increasingly more complex as my sculpting skills improve.

The second one I've done is of Galvatron and is a much more dynamic and aggressive pose. Pics should be available shortly.

The third, that I've already started, is Unicron in planet form and he will be vastly more detailed. I'm even going so far on this one as to hollow cast him with clear parts for lighting.

And lastly, I'm not overly worried about Hasbro cracking down on me, since I have no intentions of mass production. I'm only looking to sell a half dozen or so to recoupe the expenses from molding and casting.

BCM77, I'm asking $80 for the kit, or $150 for a completed statue.

From Scratch you say? That's a really professional job!
If you want to sell him on the open market, you might want to cover your rear by calling him "Robot Leader Roddy" or something.

He's cast in 9 pieces, plus the base and an alternate left hand (fist).

Would be nice to see other poses. Utilizing the hand swap.

I like the base. Looks like solid metal.
