Here he is!

I am VERY proud with how he has turned out.

I used red two-pack car paint for the alt mode parts, i airbrushed it on and then used some lacquer (clear coat) to give it that super-shiney metal look.

The bot parts are painted with flat red Tamiya paints, and the silver is from the same brand. All coated with a nice gloss finish.

I also added a ball joint to his neck so he has better head articulation, and i also added longer smoke stacks which are made out of cue tips and model filler beleive it or not.

Alt mode pics will come soon, but i just want to make sure the gloss is fully dry before i transform him.

He will be up on ebay as soon as i am fully confident in the dryness of the gloss.

Hehe, "knowing him" huh, damn people know me too well around here it seems :P

I did indeed forget, as i paid no attention to that thread as i had no idea what "he" was supposed to be and once he was released i was all like "wtf? well that was pointless..who the hell is this guy?" as ive never been interested in beast wars.

Anyway...you can think what you like for now, but HE IS COMING! (as soon as i am happy with the solidity of the paint.)

That's an interesting color scheme.

Brings to mind classic japanese robots. Such as Daimos, Grandaizer, etc. :)

I coulda sworn it was Deszaras, no?

I mean, he seems like the more likely candidate, being EVIL and such, haha, they made the "he" seem so menacing

The base figure is movie Ironhide, I'm sure of that.
Based on the color schem I think it's a G1 repaint.
Icould be wrong, though.

Definitely a friend of Shin Getter-Robo! Nice work. I love the gold stripe!
I'm a bit concerned about the Q-Tips though... Are they sturdy enough?

Once i had superglued them on they seemed study enough. I mean obviously you gotta be a bit more careful with them but they are fine as long as you dont go and start vrooming the toy around the floor and make it do flips and stuff.

I didnt have anything else to use really so i had to maguyver them together. How did you make yours?

Mine are styrene rods. I bent them with a lighter, drilled out little holes in the tips and secured them with the original screws.

Hmm, yep thats what i woulda done, but i cant find the bugger to save my life.

BTW, did you ever have a problem with the paint rubbing off the edges of the rear sections, the bit over the wheel arches. They come out and then move backwards a bit dont they, you know the parts i mean?

I always get chips and scuffs on everything I make. It's just part of the game. I don't think that I've had a problem with that part, but I'm having a hell of a time keeping paint on the rear bumper.
