my repaint of Starscream into Sunstorm(pic heavy)

I wanted to do a repaint of Starscream but i did not want to do what everyone else had done. just another gray repaint. so i started doing a little research about past seekers. At first i thought about doing Skywarp but i hope hasbro will take care of that for us. Then i stumbled upon a picture of e-hobby's g1 Sunstorm. That was it, nobody has done that one. At first i thought the orange would look real bad but now after the fact i think it really looks good. I hope ya'll like it.

best regards
Mark

this is without the arms and legs, i wanted a clean shot

My favorite part is the head. Looks sinister.

He looks really nice! I like the Sunstorm look, but I don't know anything about the character. I never followed the mainstream DW/IDW books. (WAR WITHIN was more my taste.) Could someone enlighten me?

thanks for the wow wow wow, the more i look at it the more i want to do another one, now if i could just get another starscream cheap, i only paid about 11 bucks for this one. and as far as the sunstorm story this is were i learned about him.

I really like it, think it's amazing, especially the head. Inspired.
However I think it's a little too orange, maybe if you toned it with some yellow to make it a little less all-one-colour.
Just an idea, it looks great as it is, just maybe a future touch up idea.
Great work.

i was using the g1 sunstorm as a model nothing but orange and white. i dry brushed white on the chest opening but the pictures really dont show it. I actually like the tail fins. they are g1 accurate unlike the hasbro repaints that just kept the colors. I tried to make it as close as i could. i have decepticon symbols on order from reprolabels that will be going on once the come in.

Ah, G1 accuracy! I didn't realize you were going for that. Sorry. Going from G1 colours it looks perfect. ^^
I thought you were just doing Sunstorm in movie style.

Thats nice. Hand painted? But IMHO I'd run a black was over it to bring out details.

My 2 cents.

That's awesome! But, to be honest, something about the head bugs me.... I just can't but my finger on it.

If Hasbro doesn't give us SW now you pretty much have to do one to finish off the "set"!

Look for him? Target has buttloads of G1 deco SS on the shelves, no need to look =P

I may pick up 2 to turn into Thundercracker and Skywarp myself. I try to avoid copying someone elses work so I wont touch Sunstorm and honor him as your work and idea.
