Jin's MOVIE GALVATRON custom!

PostPosted: Sat Oct 27, 2007 4:59 pm
by Jin Saotome
I give you Galvatron, done movie-style with a nod to the G1 fans out there. Yes I'm aware he'll never show up in the sequel looking like a giant purple robot, heh. This was a fan-request and I wanted to challenge myself to see if I could combine the movie and G1 styles together and come up with something that works. For some reason I'm getting Unicron (the collar spikes) and that two-headed dragon Megatron (color scheme, wings?) vibes from him. Maybe he's all four characters mixed together from my mind? Who knows! The chest shield was decided on because Megs needed something to cover up the hole Sam put in him and contain the AllSpark energy. (hah, making my own canon here!)

Interesting take on him, good job. I never knew the voyager megatron mold had such awesome looking legs till now either....i know it sounds wierd but you gotta admit those are some detailed legs hes got. Those feet look great too. Im not too fond of the doc ock claws though...they just dont suit it IMO.

very nice mr. Saotome! the head looks freakin' cool, it's really Galvatronic (if there is such a word :P). plus the claws really look nice in Alt mode.

Never really liked the Megatron figure, not enough color or definition, I'guess. But this.. wow. The colors really accent the details better than the all silver. Very nice! :)

Yet another soul-crushing creation from Jin Saotome; so wonderfully made it actually reaches inside your mind, grabs the part of you that allows you cognitive thought & twists it into oblivion, forcing you to bow down to the might of his painting & kitbashing skills, with an added shock of realization as you come to terms with the idea that you shall never be as good as he...

I was thinking along similar lines as you when it comes to your movie canon. I thought a great way to bring Megatron back might be to have hime reconstructed as Galvatron, maybe by the Constructicons... maybe not, it could work though.

Hey, thanks for the replies everyone! Wow, my best TF custom to date, really? I'm glad he's so well recieved. I'm still thinking about 'space cannon mode' but there's not a lot you can do with this Megatron mold.
