I've never seen these mods before, but was amazed at the lengths this guy goes on some of these....he's a master!

Part of me is blown away, antoher part of me is sad I saw this. he loosk so good, so cool, but I don't have the patience or the know how on how to do this.

this is torture, I'm all about wanting figs that are more movie/toon realistic.

Think I'll go cry now.

well, I'm in conversation with the guy. Turns out there are parts that need to be detached and put back on for transformation, but imo, he's done a great job on robot mode, really thinking outside the box.

He's gonna send me some text tutorial on how to make the back look like his.

Once i get a chance, I will post the info.

checked out the link, and while the robot mode looks awesome, the alt mode suffers from not having the extra kibble on the back part of the legs...theres practically no support chassis whatsoever in the rear wheels.

but i have to admit, the way this guy uses the plastics, is just pure awesome. the bot mode alone looks priceless.

:MAX:

I would gladly give up prime's alt mode in order to have a bot mode like that

I don't mind partsforming in the slightest, that back setup is a fantstic mod for Prime.

This is an amazing modification.

I wonder if the hips lights will ultimately transmit to the front headlights in truck mode.

One problem with this modification is that in robot mode, there are pieces that have "disappeared". Sure, it's movie-accurate , but for me, a well-made Transformer toy is one where no pieces are removed for either transformation.

But it sure does look nice. :)

Ever owned a G1 toy? You always had to take bits off of those things to transform them.

I did, but that was ages and ages ago. The movie line toys were the first TF toys I've collected in over 20 years. So I honestly don't remember what it was like to transform the G1 toys. :)

I agree with TF toys that has no pieces removed. Except for weapons.

This is one of the biggest reason why i stopped collecting G1 toys. (The other reason is lack of articulation.)

Classics line and Movie line seems to satisfy that criteria. That's why these 2 are my favorites.

Another line that fits into the criteria is Binaltech/Alternator.

Yes.

No articulation and body parts (not just accessories!) had to be removed for key points of transformation. That, to me, is ridiculous. Granted, for the time, it was groundbreaking.

The Movie toys...like 'Screamer and Jazz (both of which required modification for hands) are much like their G1 brethren in that respect, but beyond that part...they definitely work well as is. Nothing to remove or disassemble, etc.

The articulation on a G1 figure will make your heart hurt. (No, it'll literally break it because you think of how awesomesauce today's TFs are, then you look at the G1s and it's like a kick in the nuts.)

That being said...I'd gladly have Movie Prime be a parts former (somewhat) to achieve this look. If we can get a tutorial of the mods, I'd be willing to chop mine up. (Even without a backup figure!)

The back was what sold it for me. Screw the lights though, no frickin' way.
