Hey guys, just finished this little (simple and easy) project*:

Stooping to help a fallen comrade:

I'll take some better pictures later, including alt mode, with some detail. I also put a small Autobot symbol on the rear license plate.

*No legitimate Transformers were harmed during the making of this custom.

Hmm...
nice.
did you use reprolabels?
I might do this(if I can actually find an alternators Wheeljack)
though I like the blue stripes alot

Thanks, but the chrome wasn't my doing, the figure already had it. This is a KO Alt Wheeljack, I did a part swap with its Grimlock counterpart and added a reprolabel set and some extra labels.

It's relatively quick and easy, and cost less than an Alt Wheeljack on eBay.

Jazzz, if you can't find a real Wheeljack, these KOs are actually pretty good quality. http://www.agesthreeandup.com sells them for pretty cheap. :)

Nice! I was thinking about doing the exact same thing -- glad to see that it's possible for it to look good.

What part swap did you do with Grimlock? Will the straight-up KO not work?

I personally think these colors don't work on a mustang, I see a Boss 302 style working better for Wheeljack.
But, you did mice, and thati s a surprisingly real looking Ko.

Holy crap. Thanks dude.
are they really good quality cause i might buy 2 and give one to my friend for his birthday cause he loves wheeljack.
I know giving him a KO is bad but if he is really good quality and I throw away the box he won't tell a difference.
plus he is kinda an asshole to me sometimes.

Jazzz??? I'm kind of an asshole to you sometimes??? :P

kirbenvost, very clean work there. If anything I would suggest some more decals to give it more of a rally feel.
nice work though.

Thanks again everyone. To answer your question, the part swap I did was switching out the blue hip and feet parts for the red ones on a KO Grimlock. I did this simply because I didn't want to paint anything - my painting skills aren't that great and I wanted this custom to be quick and easy.

Jazzz: Unfortunately you can tell the difference because the real Alt Wheeljack doesn't have chrome on the head, the KO doesn't have proper Autobot symbols (hence the stickers I added), and the paint application on the KO is kind of sloppy. Took me a good 5 minutes to find one that looked acceptable, and it's still got a couple bad spots.

Wheel_Jack: Thanks! It's hard to tell from the pictures I've got right now, but I actually added some stickers from the G1 Wheeljack set, specifically the "Alitalla" ones along with the two yellow ones on the hood. It does lend more of a rally feel to it, I'm quite satisfied.

Well done, my friend! I really like how he looks and it was a great idea to swap parts with the KO for that nice chrome look. I don't like Alt-'Jack because the Mustang mould doesn't suit the character at all, in my opinion, but with the Reprolabels kit, the Autobot symbols, the rally stickers, the chrome, and the red parts, this feels right.

Nicely done! :PEACE:

Thanks! I actually used both KOs, since I didn't want to spend a pile on a toy I'd be taking apart anyway. SO it's not a 'real' Alt Wheeljack, but it's good enough for me. The rally stickers really do help a lot. :D
