For this, I used a KO, so in case I screwed up, no biggie.

Car mode, still looks the same, so thats good:

Robot mode, displaying the newly created joints:

Awesome, if only the one I had as a child was like that. I agree with Deadpool, the head on a ball joint would finish this off nicely.

I'll try to put up better pictures once he's all painted. As for the head on a ball joint, I didn't think about that. I'll try it out on my next update.

You must rock if you could make a KO withstand this.
Love it, but pics make it all.

I agree man, that's my favorite kind of kitbash.

This Hotrod looks better. I'm kinda anal about scale so I would have butchered an original anyway as this bootleg is a bit larger than the original. The head would be a bit difficult to modify so it could swivel, but it could be done. Lateral shoulder movement would be nice too.

It's a lot of critiquing but you've done such a good job I think you could go all the way.

That's ok. Criticism is welcomed, as long as it's constructive. Anyway, I've already begun the modification of the head to give it a ball joint, and it's looking pretty good. I'll post more pics of my progress soon.

Ok, here's some pics of what I've done so far. (BTW, thanks to Deadpool and the others who suggested the ball joint on the neck thing, I didn't even think about that.)

Thigh. I cut off the top and bottom parts and attached them to the legs of another robot which had the joints I wanted.
Image

Arms. I cut off the joint where the arm connects to the shoulders and placed a sheet of styrene on the part where I just cut so as to strengthen it. I'll drill holes on both the joint and the arm so I can reconnect them with screws later on.
ImageImage

Head. Due to Hotrod's high collar, I had to cut the entire neck off as well as some of the collar itself. I then attached a ball joint and a polycap socket on the collar and neck with some putty.

As a bonus, I decided to modify Hotrod's Targetmaster buddy as well. I cut off his arms, drilled holes on them and will reattach them with screws later on.
