Here's my first attempt at a movie styled G1 Skywarp using a Voyager Thundercracker and some very poor painting. I'm still learning.

I know the paint job is tacky, but I will fix it later. What do you all think so far?

Once this paint ap dries completely, I will transform him and get his Bot mode all set up.

i think its pretty nice work so far! :) like you said, paints still abit tacky, but its only bad if you dont learn from it :) keep at it!

id like to see more once youve touched it up and its all finished and stuff... some robot mode pics to..

out of interrest, what paints did you use? im about to start on two kitbashes at once... my first two no less!!

I used Fusion gloss black spray paint for the black, some metallic purple acrylic paint named FolkArt from WM, Rustoleum metallic silver spray paint for the chromed looking parts, and Testors silver and black paint pens for the trim.

I've gone over and over some parts. I need to sand it all back down and start over I think. I got the look I wanted, but the paint app just isn't very pretty.

hmmm :) best tip i could maybe offer if your using alot of spray paints is to do several thin coats... more so with gloss...

if i had pictures of it, i could show you a repainted Medabots figure i did in red and black... the red was gloss spray paint and that was about 6 coats to get it nice and even!!...

itd more than likely be less with a TF.. other wise your in danger of loosing all the details and things.. but yeah, give it a shot if your gunna sand it down and start over.

dont be too scared to try different methods out to, sure you might make a couple of mistakes along the way, but youll soon figure out what works best with what..

im still new to kitbashing or repainting transformers, but ive got a fair bit of painting experience under my belt :P so trust me, lol, when it comes to experience from mistakes and screw ups.. im your man :P ...i think.

I think the bot mode came out very well actually. I am making another set of vert stabalizers for his chest form another figure, but since I keep all my TFs in bot mode, I think I can live with this guy the way he is for now.

Wow. Now that is way superior to any of the other two g1-recolors. :APPLAUSE: :APPLAUSE: :APPLAUSE: That is superb! =P~ Hasbro should've done this instead of Thundercracker. 8) B-) ;)^

Thanks for the props! I am trying to come up with a new trim/stripe design for the wings and stabalizers. I am considering also using the labels that are coming with my G1 reprolabels for my G1 Skywarp, since my G1 has nice stripes still.
