Drivers for Alternators

I think I found a driver for the Alternators...and NO they do not fit behind the drivers whel...theres not enough room...

but if anyone has a Five Below store around them, they have these 2-packs of Halo 2 3" action figures...

They kind of look good as EDC (TF G1 Season 3,4) soldiers...and they are about the right size for the Alts...

I thought the Halo 2 armor kinda looks like updated Kicker armor...so, I decided to give it a whirl and paint him, but he's not really done yet...

I don't really like how he turned out...the white is really having a hard time covering up the dark blue and red of the other soldiers...but on e-bay I found an auction for a five pack of the Halo 2 3" mini figures...and one of them is already white, so as soon as I get them in the mail, and after a little red, blue, silver, and black paint...I will display him in all his Alternator Kicker glory!

Take a look:

they do appear to be correct scale. I like your kicker. It is messy but it looks ok. I think it could be kicker when he is a man, hence the extra bulk.

halo figures (the big ones) have just started here so i guess the little ones can't be far behind.

Actually, from what I hear, the little guys from the Dino Riders line work pretty well as drivers (anyone besides me remember Dino Riders? ...anyone at all?).

All I know is that WST Soundwave looks pretty awesome driving Dead End around, even if he is a bit too small...

I remember Dino Riders. I still have a couple of the little figures. An ant guy and a Cobra guy I think.

You should get a pic of your WST Soundwave driving Ravage.

Ha! That would be a wonderful juxtaposition of roles! I recently got Ravage, so I'll have to see what I can do about getting ahold of a camera.

those look pretty good. I still need to find time to paint them hopefully some timethis year but I have a few figureines from Neon Genisis Evangelion models i purchased of unit O and Unit 1.

They apear to be 1 to 24th scale as i compared them to the figures that come with the "Homies" car collection at our walmarts.

And Shingi's bio suit looks pretty keen next to smokescreen.

Sad news. It seems that when you try to stick WST Soundwave in Alt Ravage, he doesn't quite fit. Ravage's hip joint is decidedly unhip, and gets in the way of Soundwave's leg. Looks like he'll have to stick to cruising the streets in one of the Viper molds.

A Long while ago I posted pics of a Starcom guy behind the wheel of smokescreen. They're smaller than 1/24th scale, but its the only way you'll get a toy to make the nessisary bends (get legs under the wheel and dash) MASK figures are also 1/24 scale but don't fit in the actual seats.

The Halo 2 figures do make great Alt drivers, but sadly theres not enough room for their legs to fit. I took this photo awhile ago before I moved and lost access to a digicam.

I have a few dinoriders laying around. He was a little bit to bit to fit behind the wheel but alittle bit to short/lacked correct articulation to reach the handlebars of Lugnutz.

I know I have at least two of the human dinoriders floating around here somewhere! I'll have to dig them out this weekend!

The new little Sigma Six Joes look like they'd be about hte right size, too. You'd need one with proper articulation.

I'm still using MASK figures as my drivers. And they do fit in the Mustangs.

Not the world's best comparison photo, but this is all I have up right now:

I have used Exo Squad figures myself, they are a little bigger than the MASK figures, so you neeed to be a little careful which ones you use. In 1/24 scale they are between 6-7 feet tall. (But at 6'4" myself I don't have a problem with tall humans.) They are well articulated as well. Neck, 2 axis shoulder rotation, upper arm swivel, elbow, ball jointed hips, and knee rotation. Unfortunately they do not have a waist joint of any kind, and proportionally they are very broad shouldered. The one I have on display with my Alternators is 3 and 1/8 inches tall and 1 and 3/16 inches wide at the shoulder. That would make him 6'3" tall and 2'4.5" at the shoulder. Other than that they are quite good, and there was a wide assortment of figures including four female figures. Here is a good link to pictures of the toyshttp://www.virtualtoychest.com/exosquad/exosquad.html I believe there are still some knock offs of these still being sold at KB toystores.

I had to straighten out some server issues before I was able to post pictures, so here are some to get a good feel for the scale of the figures compared to Masterpiece Prime, Alternator Trailbreaker, and Energon Arcee.

I think they look quite nice, and with how broad shouldered all the alternators are, the people don't look very odd at all.

Yeah, it is a strait repaint of Swindle, I meant to put up a post about it in Finished customs yesterday, but I (obvuously) did not get the chance.

How well does he fit behind the wheel, if at all?

They do not fit, I don't think there is enough room in the footwells for any full scale figure, Though admittedly, I think I would have a hard time getting into some of these cars in real life.

I bash some Megablocks figures to drive my Alternators, they fit well on the three of them that I have.

HA those lil guys rock.. i like them alot.. and i personally think that they look good beside the alts...

So it looks like the options for drivers is either MASK/ Dino-rider figures of 1/24 scale humans that can't get behind the wheel of most of the 1/24 scale cars, or the cars are driven by Megablock figures that happen to be midgets, but look cool and to scale in the driver's seat.

With some slight bending, I managed to get a Homie Figure into some of my alternators and she looks short, but not stumpy and it's a bit hard to postion, and if I leave her behind the wheel too long, she gets a permanent bend at her waist

Have any of you picked up those smaller Sigma 6 toys for the figures?

i think that they would be a little too big.. they are 2.5 inches tall. and in all kinds of wierd positions..
