Hey gang, when I saw Redline's trailer for Armorhide at TFMaster.com, I knew I had to make something similar for my favorite Basic. I did not rip him off, though. I wanted my trailer to be my own. Mad props to Redline for his kickass work!

Here's what I used for this project:
- Cybertron Armorhide (O RLY?)
- the Hot Wheels Truckin' Transports set with the helicopter
- Cybertron Mini-Con Versus Pack - Steamhammer vs. Razorclaw
- model paints
- Photoshop
- screwdriver, scissors, glue, paintbrushes, etc. You know, the usual.

Here's the box I 'shopped for the occasion:

And the bio:

"Relying on his vehicle mode for more than mere disguise, Armorhide requested that a trailer be specifically built for him. The trailer has enough cargo room for all of his equipment and transforms into a mobile base, complete with repair/refueling bay, sensor array/defense turret, landing pad, and a terminal for accessing Teletran-1 outside of the Ark. Roller, a long-time supporter of the Autobot cause and veteran of the Cybertronian wars, has teamed up with Armorhide to offer his knowledge and experience. The duo ensure that each mission they embark upon ends in success."

The 'decal' on the trailer is a simple image I 'shopped, printed, glued to the plastic, and covered with a layer of clear packing tape for protection:

Sensor Array and Defense Turret can be deployed in altmode:

I used some spare Stikfas pieces to make the 'legs.' Now the trailer can stand even without the cab attached:

I even 'shopped him an Autobot plate! I know, it's not centered...:

The trailer opens to reveal a helipad. It originally came with a chopper, but I don't use it. The detail and sticker are stock:



And of course, what would a trailer-base be without ol' Roller??:


I messed up the paint. I had mixed the perfect shade of blue/purple, but the paints I used to mix it (blue, black, red) ran down the sides of the bottle and mixed too much, resulting in the black you see. It's actually dark, REALLY dark blue... I'm not willing to repaint him again, so I guess I'll just live with a darker Roller.
EDIT: Here he is in better lighting. Compare the colour of the body to the colour of the wheels, you can see the blue better, even more so if you turn up your monitor's brightness:

Thats great, it doesn't normally bother me when a semi TF doesn't have a trailer, but that does make him look better.
I've been toying with the idea of making Classic Voyager Prime a trailer, but I haven't found any the right size so far to mod.

Edit:- I've just been and had a look at the mod on tfmaster.com, and i spotted something, you two used the same trailer for Armorhide, though you both painted it differently.
Still bloody cool though.

Yep! I saw Redline's work and thought 'Holy crap, that is amazing.' I did some research to find out what toy he used, and searched 5 stores in my area over the course of 3 days to find it. But it was so worth it!

I've added 2 more pics to the first post: Roller in better lighting (you can see he's blue) and the trailer-base on a busy day, with Wheeljack being repaired and Optimus using the Teletran Terminal.

Now that is really cool. I like it a lot. If I ever get some free time I may have to try that myself. Great Work!

Nice work, the side of the trailer turned out really well, almost as nice as Delta's sticker set! I love the Stikfas' dolly you made... I might have to try that out... Which parts did you use to make them?

(Now, if I could just find me another friggin' trailer after that Zip Strip fiasco... I've still my own set to finish... Armorhide's sitting on my desk with his gun pointed at me, getting annoyed that it's taking me this long to start over!)

Thanks for the kind words! Each of the legs are made of 2 shoulder pieces. I painted the bottom one white and glued the top one to the inside of the trailer. Here's a pic:

That's the white and black "Police" version. There's also a gray and blue "Surveillance" version. They're both the same mould though, just a repaint with a different sticker. I would have gotten the gray trailer since it would match Armorhide better, but I couldn't find it so I settled for the white one. Good enough for me!

I found 2 of them today!! They were only 5 bucks cha ching!

GAH! You suck! I've not been able to find any of the kitbashing fodder trailers since I smelted mine down a few months ago!

I've convinced myself that my only resort now is Ebay... (Which I will eventually do... I have to get this thing done sometime soon... Armorhide's getting annoyed with me...)
