The Energon Pub

I got tired of looking at that freaky G2 paintjob, so I decided to break out my Krylon Fusion Nickle Shimmer and Testors Transparent Blue spray-paint and fix it.






I'm still working on integrating Energon Rodimus's "heels" into Hero Op's legs, but I did discover that he -can- stand up on his own if his legs are positioned in the standard G1-brick configuration, and his arms are angled forward a bit for balance.

with that blue you're coming closer to this unreleased variant :

Looks nice! I think you should paint the current blue parts (head and gun) to match.

I might just look into that. Depending on how hard it'll be to mask off his face, I don't see why I couldn't.

The grille needs to be silver/chrome, but that looks a lot better than what was released.. is that a G2 toy catalog?

I dunno if they do unreleased variants, but http://tfu.info only lists the European (Sureshot) variant. Maybe you should submit that to them.

Hmm. I think it works well in robot mode, but for some reason the blue cab and red rear looks odd to me... maybe it's all these years of Prime having a red cab, I'm not sure. Really nice job you've done, though, and it'd probably look great if you applied it to the head and gun too (or maybe the head and hands, and painting the gun black?).

Mine'll be sticking as Sureshot, I think...

or get rid of more red and call him Ultra Magnus. personally, I'd like new Magnus color schemes to get rid of red altogether. the original Magnus had red, but I think red with blue is so difficult.
at least color those white bits on the side of the vehicle mode blue as well.

TFU.info only lists released products. as he said, that mostly-blue repaint is UNreleased. I think that unreleased one is pretty ugly anyways.
