OK. Finally got my "el-cheapo" web cam to work, so I bring to you what I hope to be the first of a line of customs called TF Legends. Here's Sideswipe!

Here's the whole gallery:

(note: These are just quick pics from a cheap webcam. I'll get better looking pics out as soon as I get more figures done)

A few things I can tell you about him: made from stunticon breakdown, hollowed out the appendages, re-tooled the front end, gave him new arms, legs, and the Sideswipe head. The unfortunate part about the figure is that I couldn't get the arms to go out any further. In all irony, they stick out in vehicle mode.
Also, the figure also marks the first time I ever used plumbers putty, painters tape, and airbrush. Maybe next time I can use airbrush thinner (hee-hee, I got messy :P )

All-in-all, I'm pretty pleased with the outcome. I also have Rodimus Prime, Snarl, Swoop, and Astrotrain started. I'll try to get a WIP piece posted later.

Comments?

huh. I didn't even notice it was a Stunticon mold at first. I thought maybe it was a Micromaster. Your crappy webcam is much better than my crappy webcam.
What is the focus of this "TF Legends"? It's really too bad his arms stick out in vehicle mode, but I guess that's some experience for you. It looks like the car front is much wider than the back because of it having to line up with the arms... also his head looks a little too big for that body.

It actually reminds me of Armada Overloads mini-con Rollout

The TF Legends series was originally the Kmart exclusive version of the Pretender Legends, minus the shell. The idea of bringing these figures back for another round intrigued me, but their execution was a bit off. I wanted to extend the series, adding others that should have been in the line.

As for the head, it's hard as hell to find heads for my figures. I originally wanted the Action Master Sideswipe (even to go as far as having Joe Toscano to make me a mold of it for me, only to have it be too big for it to fit in the compartment). Maybe if I make a Red Alert, I can use that head. So I had to buy a junker SS just for the head.
