You can see from the close ups that I'm not very good at painting or casting. There are many flaws, air bubbles and rough edges in each piece. All in all the shark portion of the diorama was fun and I'm looking forward to finishing the other pieces and showing it at Iacon One.
bah! You're your own worst critic!
These are bloody great! Such a wonderful ingenius idea! And this from the guy who dislikes TF things that don't transform!
But these, these I like!

Thanks. You guys are always cool about my stuff. I tell you what. If anyone sees me at Iacon One and still likes the guards after evaluating them in person, I'll sell them at 5 dollars each. You can take your pick once we're there, but I need them to be in the diorama so I can't sell them off until 6 p.m. Saturday evening.

Good catch! The guards are resin castings and I took the feet and arms from other toys I had when I made the master prototype. I used one of the Zoids from the Z-builders set that makes up Matrix Dragon. I think it was the red lion one. You can see how I chopped off the parts of the feet that I wanted when I made the prototype that I cast the parts from:

If you look closely at the movie you'll se that the shape of the feet isn't very movie accurate, but I wanted them to be big so they'd be stable and the Zoids feet looked menacing. All the parts that are white or tan I made out of styrene or sculpey. Then I made molds of the parts and once I cast enough parts for twenty guards I glued them all together.
