Amazing indeed, this recolor looks so good I'm nearly wondering when it'll hit the stores. :P

It definately looks good. VP did an amazing job. One thing I noticed though, Dev is in his actual gallery, you have him as Menasor by Wikkid.

He looks great, but what brand black did you use? He looks very graphite/carbony.

I used some sort of black laquer. I ran out of krylon fusion and was too lazy at the time to go buy more so just used what I had lying around. I don't think it's the paint that caused that effect but more of the can being old and so the spray didn't come out as a fine mist. I would have preferred a smoother look but oh well.

That is awesome. I love how you open the bed cover to reveal the cannons. And I also love that colour. It may have been an accident, but it works a treat.

I have to say that accident or not, that is a really cool effect on the black! does it affect the transformation at all? because it looks really thick.

Yeah, I can understand the desire to have the black be smooth instead of textured....but damned if it doesn't look awesome on him. And I still can't get over the hidden cannons in the truck bed. And the bed cover! It's seemless!

The steel legs helped break up the black, too. Can't remember if that's how it was to begin with or if you changed that after the first pics I saw. And it's just so easy to add the actual G1 headlauncher.

Nice work. :)

The brand of paint is rust-oleum black lacquer but I don't think it's the brand that gave it that texture effect. It's really because the can I used was an old one so the velocity of the spray is reduced or the can is semi glogged so the spray didn't come out as a fine mist. Purely by accident I have to admit and I'm quite surprised that people like the look of it. I went shopping for some more krylon fusion (what I wanted to use orginally but ran out) and saw that they have textured paint so if people want to have that effect their are paints out there that can give that effect. The upper legs (as well as other silver looking parts) is krylon fusion nickel shimmer (a silvery color).

Hobbyist Prime, it may look thicker but it actually isn't. So it doesn't effect transformation anymore than any paint would.

Pun-3X, the paint apps I added from the initial pics I showed are the red on the shoulders/front bumper, red forearms, and silver thighs. It definitely does break up the blackness I had before. Those cannons in the bed do come in handy when you have Starscream on your tail doesn't it?

Asphalt, the pistol is the same pistol/engine that comes with Alt Prime. The cannons are from some imitation GI vehicle which I modded to fit in the truck bed.
