Custom RM Victory Saber

PostPosted: Sun Sep 03, 2006 9:57 am

Its been sometimes since I last did a custom. Too lazy to work on one.. :P

Recently, my bro was fiddling with Robot Master Victory Saber.
His limited posability was really getting into me.
And the face sculpt just didn't do the original toy or the animation enough justice.

My dislike for the RM interpretation of Victory saber was so intense that It force me out of my Custom "hibination"

So I decided, make a few "improvements" (IMO).

Cheers

I have been working with Victory leo too.. And here are the initial pics.
Still need to work on his wings and perhaps the hind legs of the Lion mode. Its currently too stiff IMO.

What I did so far;
1. Resculpt the face. Cos I just hate the old cry baby look
2. Give it a twistable neck
3. Knee joints

For more Details pics and description of modification made to each part, please visit my blog

For those interested to know what joints I used, you can find it in the blog too.

A great pal of mine suggested that I should do something with the hind legs of Victory leo, and commented that the lack of knee joint in the hind legs, caused them to Jugged out awkwardly in Victory saber mode. I agreed. However, its technically pretty challanging given its limited space..

I finally convinced myself to take the risk and Here he is..

With knee joints he can achieve more dynamic beastly pose.

Star Saber in alternate mode. No parts is required to be removed during transformation

And the first look of VICTORY SABER

Grateful for all the motivations guys.

Its been awhile since my last update, I gave a coat of paint to Star saber and painted the Wings.
I might change the fists in time to come to improve his way of holding his Saber but for now bear with me.

Here's some pics of Star saber and Victory Saber, ( Apologise for the poor quality of the pics, Lighting was poor. So I have to use flash at a close distance)

It's absolutely nice, but why is it in the Extensive mods/scratchbuilt section? this is a relatively small mod.

please refer to the first 2 images in regards to the mods Which are all stated in the images from the wing extenstions to the hip and leg joints that are added to the figure as this was not a small mod but reworking the whole thing on both and making them both combine still.

You're a bossy little fellow, aren't you?

Anyway, this mod looks really cool. I've seen the $3 bootleg Victory Saber set at the local groceries, so I might just give this a try!

ARE YOU KIDDING? I assume that you do not own the Victory Saber set and do not realize the difference between this custom and the way it was before the mod.

I've got a knockoff version of the robot masters mold.I'm not saying it was easy,i just said it didn't change the look.
You don't have to go around calling people crazy everytime they don't share an opinion.
