Finally opened up my Nemesis. I'm a G1 guy so I really didn't care about Nemesis. Anyhoo, all the red and chrome is from the repro set and the head I ordered but painted it fusion black and tamiya red and silver. I still wanna get the generator Chrome though. Any good paint suggestions for chrome?

I lost track of the thread but someone mentioned a paint called Alclad I believe that goes on over gloss black and looks like vacuum metalized chrome!

Hey, thanks for the suggestion. I actually found an original Trailbreaker generator and dremmeled the peg down a little and it fit right in. Problem solved :).

Yup that was me.

Alclad. I's not exactlly the cheapest stuff. Also If you decide to use this, buy some rubber gloves. This stuff is meant for spraying, but it can be brushed on. It is as thin as water, so it is easy to get on your hands, and you do not want that! The stuff will turn your fingers metallicized, permenatly! Also if you use a brush, you can only use that brush once, once it dries. And like HP pointed out, you can only use it on gloss black, the chemical in the alclad reacts with the high gloss, and fuses to the black to get the chrome finish.

here is a pic of the finished products:

If you do what I did (the scourge trailer) with sandpaper to roughen up the surface, be sure to put on a heavy coat of gloss black to fill any tiny gaps so the alclad will come out smoother. Alclad can also be painted over.
hope that helps. :D

And incase you missed it or didn't notice it, paint the licence plate light recesses it'll look better in vehicle mode I did it with Op and when I get another i'll do it for Hoist and Trailbreaker.

Weird, I was just asking about chrome paint in a Hobbytown USA yesterday, and the guy suggested this same exact stuff. Years of KBshing forums and I'd never heard of the stuff, now twice in two days.
