Well this was predictable .... i've decided to make a side project: a beetle that transforms into a better incarnation of a g1 bumblebee then the classic one.... this has been on my mind for quite a while and i,ve decided to make one !!! this is the EARLY pictures of both modes and note that allot of changes are coming to it and will be a vey beautiful piece !!!
(note this is just a 8 hours old project so be gentle ;) )

hope you like it !!!

Definately very well done so far, though this really belongs in thw WIP section since you are kitbashing a Classics Bumblebee rather than truely making him from scratch. I would love to see some 360? pics so we can see him from all angles and see what you are doing with him. I really wasn?t all that sure if turning Classics Bumblebee into a VW bug was even going to be possible.

I was actually going to give this a try, before i saw the prohibitive cost of plastic VW beetle kits, heh...

I love what you've done so far, this is a project i would still like to do some day! I cant wait to see some more progress pics!

update !!!

this little bugger has been giving me headaches !! 2 majors problems were found but now fixed (thank god) the wheels have been added and were a major problem especially where the shoulders turm....

ok now that put aside , i really excited about where this is going !! i have a couple of add-on items that i want on him .....

as for info on where i,ve gotten the vw model well, it,s a small metal model that i,ve casted to be in plastic instead (had fun with that ...not !!) and ALL of the components STAY on him.... (part of my headaches actually) and i,ve decided to keep the metal doors for stability purposes....

also notice the hands that i have modified (the old ones were ugly !!)

so that,s it for now !! going to bed now ....

so i hope you enjoy the latest progress !!

Interesting choice. I had thought that you just hadn?t finished the hinges for his shin guards, but you decided to flip it up inside his torso. So far, the only problem I see is the gaps between the door frames and the roof, and the hood and fenders, in car mode. Fix those gaps, and he?ll look real sweet.

Wow. Since you made that with a mold I suggest you sell conversion kits or at least reproduce a few of them even if other have to paint it that way the mold doesn't go to waste.

In any case I love how well you hid the parts. Kudos.

OK, now I am really curious. How did you get the change from normal face to battle mask? Does the mask clip on, or does he have two faces back-to-back?

You have every right to call this "masterpiece bumblebee"
If you make molds of the parts, you could easily make a masterpiece cliffjumper.
