Hello everyone, been a while since I posted last (7 month old transformer fan takes up most of my time nowadays :D ). I've had a little time on my hands lately and thought I would share some small things I've been working on.

I wasn't too sure about the tracks for his trailer. What do you think???
Thanks. :)

I love the hands and the color of Pipes. I'm not sure about the tracks and those big wheels. But it's a good work.

Thanks for the input everyone! :D I was having trouble deciding on those trailer treads. I thought it looked rather odd and then I looked over at armada prime and realized why, not to mention that it probably does not fit Pipes character either. So, no treads for this trailer.

Minor update: Got the trailer sprayed metalic blue on the outside and hammered silver on the inside. Lots of things tried to go wrong (bugs, leaves and hair) but it ended up looking alright. I was pleasantly surprised.

I'm going to go ahead with the big wheel's on the truck... I need the extra clearance for the set of pipes I have planned to go onto his forearms. :?: Has anyone got a good picture of a Semi that is built for drag racing??? Had thoughts about turning him into one since his name is Pipes.

Also, thanks for the compliment on my Knock off tape tigatron Skullgrin, :D I've got a auction going on right now for a botcon tigatron and decided to give it away as an extra.
Thanks everyone and I'll get some more pics up soon.

Personally, I don?t like the over-sized back wheels. They unbalance him too much, and just don?t look right. As far as mouning pipes on his forearms, I don?t see how since his arms form the trailer hitch, and, if you mount pipes on them you won?t be able to hook up a trailer.

Yeah, I know that the back tires are big but they have kind of grown on me. :) I still am not even sure if the trailer would work if I turned him into a drag racing semi, I might have to use it for another character or something....I'll just have to see how it comes along.
With the pipes on the arms I've got some rather large one's that I need to get onto him. It's rather hard to see from my pic's here (I'm doing something wrong somewhere...been a while since I last posted pic's...my pic's came out really small but on my photobucket account when you click on them they are big???) but if you go to that link from my first post it's a bit clearer. I made his waist turn and hollowed out the back of the arms and so his trailer hitch is now on the back of his forearms in robot mode and the added pipes would be underneath the truck in vehicle mode. The arm pipes are made from an ink pen for a size comparison of what I'm trying to do. They are a bit large but would be comparable to the pic of him from the T.F.Universe comic from 1987.
Thanks for your input Tramp, it is appreciated :) .

Ok, I'm an idiot... I think that all those thoughts about trailer tracks and huge back wheels made me loose my brain unit. I've given serious thought to how I want this little project to go and what I want to see out of it and it doesn't include my past nutty ideas. I get so stoubborn headed at times when I get an idea in my head that it's hard to think past it and see the true path.

Here's what I have planned... the space where the extra tire was taken off will have a fuel tank in it's place. I'm going to run a piece of aluminum from it around or inbetween the tire and then into a larger cannon for gun tips. This should make his guns on the side of his arms instead of on top like I had planned before. I will then be able to use the hot wheels trailer for him. Since his character is a collector of odds and ends junk items I am going to try to give it a sort of junk yard feel to it on the inside instead of mass weaponry like Prime's. Maybe I can come up with a grappling arm to grab stuff from off the side of the road like lost hubcap's and stuff.

Thanks again everyone for the input on my ideas for him and setting me straight on what look's goofy :) . I think this new idea should give the little guy some justice.

Oh, nice. I'm really liking what you've done with the pipes - I wasn't sure where you'd find the space to fit them; getting them to run round the wheels is a masterstroke. I like the idea with the junky trailer too. Maybe you should fit some weapon systems too, but the claw is definitely a winner.

Yeah, now that's looking good. Add fire power and you're done.

The pipes do look good in robot mode, but a little odd in vehicle mode since it looks like he has exhause pipes coming directly out of his fuel tanks.

that's just his chestpiece. the part that hides the missles and is the grill.. its merely flipped all the way over.

have you seen this custom?

Thanks for the compliments everyone :D , I'm glad people are honest on this board whenever they give their opinion about a project. At least now I know I'm on the right track. So the grappling arm will be a go for the trailer. I think I can fit 2 inside there, or should I make one a hook and the other a grappling arm? I thought I would go with a 3 finger method kind of like the larger Thrust hands from B.Mac.. I'm gonna look at a few real trailers and see what is usually underneath them. Seem's like there are boxe's and stuff, maybe I could place something under there to kind of cover up his gun tips in truck mode. If I can't I guess I could always think of him as running off of rocket fuel :) .
Here's a pic of the back of him right now Asphalt, This piece pops off for transformation. It's too small for me to feel comfortable trying to make it swivel. I've seen that custom also Redline, it's really cool. I really like the trailer you've got for your Armorhide. Was it hard getting those lights in there? Pretty neat stuff :D !!!

no, it actually wasn't hard at all, especially considering how limited my experience in KBing is outside of just repainting. I got a cool giftcard from target last year (multiples actually) that has leds in it. I cut it open, and it has 2 lights and a really tiny lil circuit board which contains 3 buttoncell batteries and a button. the front part of the trailer which doesn't transform, I cust the thin cross-brace underneath so the board could slid inside of there. it was a snug enough fit I didn't have to do any sort of mounting, it stays on its own. I then ran the leds to where I wanted them to go, and drilled a tiny hole that the bulbs just fit through and put a dab of modeller's glue on the underside. after it was dry, I sprayed a light coat of silver over the bottom again so the wires looked like they belonged there (seeing as how real trailers have wired underneath for their taillights and such). glad you like it :)
