Is that one of the new 20th Anniverasry Primes or one of the original ones?

OK, so those extra back parts are not actually “attached” to the model yet, they’re just placed their temporarily until you get one of the new Primes. Good. You had ne worried there for a moment.

The pack is looking good so far, but without any idea of what the final concept is going to look like (draings and the like), It’s hard to judge. The craftsmanship is excellent though.

i cant wait to get my hands on this lil bad boy.... the new one needs to show up so you can ship it here!!! now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I definitely want to see this one finished, though I hope you won't peruse too light a shade of green on him.

Well call me strange for suggesting it, but why not use 2 claw-arms with a pair of pegs on the sides of it to mount the cannon and to give the back-pack an secondary original twist? I dunno, but to get an idea of how it would look you could toy around a bit with the claw arms of say THS02 Prime, regular prime or Overlord/etc. depending on your collection as those sorts of claw arms are not hard to duplicate/mod from a different toy.

Also, please consider using "boltgun metal" instead of chrome in the color scheme, it's a dark but sparkly metallic gray, kinda like a darker chrome, but not as clear.
It can be found in most "Games Workshop" stores (uk/usa./netherlands).

Lastly, a few additional suggestions:
Since he's carrying that giga-blaster, why not add a sense of weight and balance witha pair of boots or leg-supports(they could mount on the backpack in truck mode.
That'd add to the gravitas (or failing that, to the gravity ).

As for his shoulders, some trucks have an oblong or semi circular cover on the roof, why not replace the stacks with 2 halfs of such that come together in truck mode?

I really want to see the finished form of this promising project, so I'm hoping my suggestions can contribute something to it..

Looks sweet in truck mode....kinda reminds me of that character that was part prime, part megs, with starscreams spirit, cant think of his name at the moment though...

Kind of like the thing on Classics Prime? Or he could go the motormaster way and make something akin to a sleepcab. But then it would probably look too much like Motormaster...

Is that the Megatron gun barrel sticking out of it? Doesn't look to bad to me.

I have to agree with the Ultra Magnus calls too. I've always hoped someone would do the trailer/armour thingy to an MP UM.

guess what actually came last night there asphalt.... prime arrived safe and sound.. i will get started on em today..

head will become black. still thinking of a good color for the eyes.. possibly white. hands still need painted black as does the windows.

throw me out some ideas. next day to work on him is monday. so ill get more done then..

ok.. minus some touch ups. and back pack.. i think that he is pretty sweet... just gotta talk to the owner of this bad boy to see what he thinks...

As far as the paint applications go, it is very well done. I have only two problems withit. First, I wouldn’t have painted over the windshields. It would look ten times better if they were left clear. If you wanted them tinted, a smoke clear-coat would have been a better choice. Secondly, if this is supposed to be a precessor to Optimus Prime, he wouldn hav an Earth-style Semi for an Alt mode. Even with the back-pack, This figure’s alt mode is still going to look too much like an Earth semi truck, not a Cybertronian vehicle. It will be interesting to see what Asphalt can do to rectify that issue.

i agree with tramp, , definatly an origional colour too, i ws thinking of doing one in yellow or blue but never would have thort of green and gold

whats prime like for chipping, my mp prime has pritty bad chipping on his factory paint, did you remove the old paint or paint over the old red?

Yeah, You posted them earlier. The thing is though, without some idea of how this is going to look in the end, like a sketch or something, it still looks like the alt mode is still going to end up too Earthen in appearance, and he still looks too much like Optimus.

havent done anything with the accessories yet.. once i get the figure done. ill get on them.

the eyes.. it is your figure. so what ever you want on there ill do .. personally i like the white... blue wasnt doing it for me. red nah.. gold is possible. but i think that may be too much gold on his head..

Maybe pale blue eyes highlighted up to white in the centre? The white is good for intensity, but the blue might add a little depth and make it less stark in appearance.
