Menasor

Since I don't want to clog up Ramrider's thread about his Menasor project I figured I'd start my own here.
Here's my initial plans for it. I've got the Prime, the Mirage, one Hot Rod, and the Crosswise, and a few extra heads and some styrene to start with. I've also got a pair of hands and a leader size head that will be for the combined mode. Still working out how the limbs will attach and all but so far so good.
Motormaster - Modified Classics Prime with scratch Built trailer (Will house chest and crotch pieces as well as hands and Menasor's gun)
Breakdown - Modified Classics Hot Rod (New head, some resulpting/body work, paint)
Drag Strip - Modified Classics Mirage (resulcpted head, paint work, possible adding the extra wheels, not sure yet)
Wildride - Cybertron Crosswise (New head, repaint, and a little bit of body work to remove the need for the cyber key, and of course paint job)
Dead End - Modified Classics Hot Rod (New head, good bit of resulpting/body work, paint)

I don't know why everyone keeps thinking of Hot Rod as Dead End... Dead End is rounded with the roof/window section much farther back. With the roundedness, I would almost pick Crosswise for Dead End, except that the roof/window section doesn't match. what about Bumblebee for one of them?

Bumblebee is jsut to small in relation to the rest to work. He'd throw the figure out of proportion regardless of what limb I made him, Hot Rod kinda got slotted in as Dead End because I can't think of any other figure that works in that spot and he's fairly easy to come by right now. However I've already started the design work to remedy the window being to far forward and the roundness problem. I can't correct the roundness completely, but i think I can come close.
He's gonna loose the engine, as will Breakdown, and I'm gonna add something to the lower portion of his windshield to give him a longer hood and give it a closer look to the original toy. I've already got his new head picked out, though its gonna need some putty and sculpt work. Once I actually get to work on him I'll post some pics and I think you'll be surprised.

Aside from anything else, Bumblebee just wouldn't feel Stunticon enough, either, I reckon. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure about Crosswise either, but then I'm not a fan of his car mode at all.
Are you sure Deluxes will work as limbs? My tester using Brakedown as an arm almost seems too long, and he's a Basic. I'd have thought a Deluxe would be too big.
When I get home, I'll be looking at Blackjack (my Clocker conversion) to see how those guys might work as limbs.

Well I'm adding a trailer to Motormaster which will add a good deal of bulk to his comber mode, and I'm thinking of trying something to elongate his torso some in combined mode, he's going to be a big bulky monster of a gestalt when he's done. Its gonna require alot more work to the Prime mold then I originally thought of though, but I think it will be worth it to me.
I agree that basics are probably the better route to go with jsut the base Prime mode though. I jsut wanted all the Stunticons to be closer to the same height in bot mode. The whole four short and one really tall thing always annoyed me a bit.
I've also got another little project thats almost done that I hope to post up within the next few days that I think alot of people will like.

Ooo... big bulky monster, eh? Interesting. Can't wait to see how you play it. Meanwhile, I'll be pottering on with mine...

Been busy as hell the last few days so unfortunately no progress on this thing, though I did find a few extra Hot Rods for that portion.

Well no pics quite yet, but Classics Mirage takes dye well, in fact the grey parts on him soak it up like sponges, I've never seen plastic change color that fast before.
Hopefully Drag Strip will be done by weeks end.

How are you going to manage the combination? I mean the Energon combiner ports won't fit into them so what are you going to use?

Its gonna be custom parts. Thats one reason this guy won't be scramble city style. Each part will make a specific limb. The connector points will be part of the trailer which merges with Motormaster. Still kinda working on that part.
Unfortunately I'm currently in a set back, almost had Dragstrip done then I stripped out a screw and ended up breaking him. Need to get myself another Mirage to replace the parts I screwed up.
Also the next month I'll be out of town because of work and won't be ale to do anything with it unfortunately.

Well as can be seen in another thread Dragstrip is complete. And I've picked up a Cybertron Prime today that will make a great Motormaster. Have to thank Tramp for that suggestion.
He's gonna get modded a good bit so when I'm done his bot mode will look nothing like Cyb-Prime. New head is picked out and under construction. His trailer has been dismantled, its gonna get heavily modded to look closer to the original as well as house a few little tricks.
The base Motormaster bot I think I can have done by the end of the month, of course the trailer will take longer.
The others are in various stages of construction. Though none are anywhere near complete. Time being at a premium lately. I may be taking some vacation time next month though, during which I might be able to get a little farther on this project.
