Revamped Stunticons

Copied in part from my post back at the Archive.

I was never happy with my Viper Stunticons - being some of the very first customs I did, they weren't especially well done.

Took a friend's suggestion to just use Decepticharge as Dragstrip, so I just needed to make a new Wildrider and Breakdown. The Mazda and Acura are my favorite molds, so...

Wildrider - very simple Meister repaint.

Breakdown - repainted Binaltech blue Prowl w/Reprolabel stickers

Motormaster is just a Nemesis Prime with the leg extension mod and a vanity plate.

I'm out of my mind. I had never painted an Acura before, so what did I do? Buy a $50 version of a mold I have no experience with and paint it white, one of the hardest colors to work with (I did very carefully examine my Prowl first to make sure I could disassemble one, though).

Craziness!

Look pretty good. I'm currently turning a Classics Mirage into a Dragstrip for a Stunticon set of my own.

Tinkered with Wildrider a bit more. I reshaped the pegs on the arms slightly (thanks Ratbat!) so that the doors can be mounted there for robot mode (like on the original toy), and sprayed it with a glossy clear coat yesterday to give it a shine. First time I've ever used the stuff: I'm pleased with the result, but it takes forever to dry compared to everything else I use.

Shiny like a real car!

I still need to do some minor touch-ups, but I'll get some higher-resolution pictures taken soon.

Those're awesome. What kind of paint did you use? Have any chipping/flaking/scratching problems?

I want to do Classics Stunticons, and your paintjobs are amazing...

Do the rest!!

Tinkered with Breakdown a bit today. Drilled a small shaft in the handle of the nightstick so that it can combine with the engine block to make a rifle, and added the door mod I saw Pun-3x use on his Red Alert.

I think I'm going to wash and repaint the head, though. It's a bit sloppy for some reason.
