So is the chest attached on a hinge or something or does it jsut pop off and back on the opposite way? And does the head flip some how inside the chest or just turn around?

According to the first post, the upper torso rotates on an axis—a basic torso-twist. The back piece apparently folds in half to allow the upper torso to do so.

I'm jsut slow tonight, thanks Tramp:)
Now I wonder how hard it would be to apply the same thing to his large incarnation.
Any WIP pics we could look at to see exactly how this works? And can't wait to see car pics.

That is actual, proper, honest-to-gosh-darn genius!
I'd like to have a crack at doing the full-scale version myself, since I now have a spare semi-repainted Hot Shot. With orange arms, actually.
The only real difficulty I see with the upscale is regarding the forearms; these ones don't bend, so you don't need to worry about the elbows and fistsgoing the wrong way. The Cybertron version might require a bit of re-engineering in that area to make it work...

yeah. I was looking at mine today cause I was asked if I'd do this to the full-sized version or not. You'd probably need to figure a way to have a fist that is similar to those on Superlink Sprung... in that you can rotate them on a pin so that you could have two fists, one red, one blue, one facing one way, the other "upside down"... you might would need to do a little work on the waist since its attached a little weird.
three primary things I see are, 1)waist 2)fists, 3)elbows. I'd certainly be interested though...

I'm gonna steal your idea:)
Already figured out the waist, should actually be able to do it very similiar to how it appears you did the mini version. The head is gonna be very easy. Elbows and fists are a little harder to fix though. Wondering if there might be a way to modify the arms to be more similiar to Classics Bumblebee and have the car door rotate around the arm. That would allow you to simply flip the arm around when you spin the waist. For the actual fist though, I suppose you could cut two in half and put the two tops together so you end up with a thumb on each side, so when you flip them you have the right hands. Would look a little strange, but with the car door there you wouldn't really notice so much what was on the bottom of the hand. And then you could have one half in one color and the other in another color to help differentiate them.
I'm thinking about if I want to remove the cyber key port to make him look more like the original toy in car mode.

You could get the same effect on the fists simply by adding a second thumb to them rather than cutting two different fists in half and gluing them together.

well yeah, but as that involves less use of power tools:)

Very true, but look at it this way— It is alot less work, has less chance of being screwed up, and won’t require you to sacrifice another bot just for the hands, thus saving you money.

Actually I'm already sacrificing two bots. To avoid the rub problem on some parts this guy will be part C-Hot Shot plus part C-Excellon. The Excellion is somewhat banged up to begin with of course. Need him for his orange parts.
But yeah molding new thumbs would be easier and is more likely what I'll end up doing. His head will be Hot Shot's on the Punch side and a salvaged face from my box o heads for the Counterpunch head. Not sure who the face belonged to, but it looks perfect for the cartoon version of his face.

Well, you might want to take the leftover parts from both bots and put them together as its own bot since it sounds like you’re just swapping parts.
