Classics Transmetal Megatron - Completed

I swapped the heads between my Classics Grimlock and my Cybertron Beast Megatron. (I'll post up Grimlock's pics later.) I also replaced Grimlock's tail with that of Transmetal Megatron. Below is the figure without any new paint details. I'd like everone's opinion on the color scheme I should use on him. I'm not sure between G1, G2, Standard BW, or TM Beast Wars. I'm leaning toward Transmetal, especially since I used the Transmetal tail. Also, does anyone know if there are Predacon rub symbols available anywhere?

He's got a robotic look because of the grimmy base,i can really see it happening with the TM Megs colours.
Hope to see some good progress soon.

BW Megs purple & green colorscheme is very crappy (in some forums they call him "Barneytron"

)
I think this colorscheme could be good for BW Megs.

I'm also rooting for the TM-style bronze and purple. I considered the G1 scheme (after all, BW Megs has got a
bit of a hero-worship thing going for his predecessor), but then that
would basically wind up looking like Grimlock with a head swap.
As for the rubsigns...
Yes.It's the Beast Wars ones. They come in sets of four; two Maximal and two Predacon.

Thanks for the link, Ramrider. Good thing they accept Paypal too. I'll just have to get some of the Decepticon & Autobot symbols for good measure.

That looks fantastic; the Grimlock mould really suits him.
Just out of curiosity, what did you use for the purple, and how metallic is it? Just wondering, because while it doesn't look particularly metallic, I know some of the stuff I use has a really nice sheen in real life but doesn't show up well on photos.

Metallic purple craft acrylic. But the color had to be mixed with a more vibrant purple to get the color closer. Unfortunately that dulled the metallic properties and made it more of a satin finish.

Fair enough. If you're interested, you can get some really good topcoats for those things. I use mostly Inscribe hobby acrylics myself, and they do a Pearly Glaze, which is basically a gloss glaze with mica particles in it; it gives a really nice metallic finish. I'm using at the moment on my WiP Classics Thundercracker, and it's really looking the part.

I'll have to look into it. While it doesn't look bad, I'd really like it to have more of a sheen. Thanks.

That looks really nice. The mold really works for BW Megatron, maybe even better then for CL Grimlock.
Since the purple question has been answered, lets go for the other color :p
It looks a bit like metallic copper and it looks really nice. Also a bit worn and old. (Actually, the purple looks a bit bland next to it.)

Interesting. the bronze fits in with purple. I'm used to the Purple dinosaur named..(not Barney) Megatron

Actually, I just noticed something. In the first pic, he's holding one of the tail jaws as a dagger. How does that work - is the jaw removable and attached by a post, or is there something else going on?

I'd say its a trick of the angle. looks like thee tail is attached to the back and the 'dagger' appearance is just a happy coincidence.
would be cool though!!

Oh, yeah... optical illusions. Gotta love 'em...

, yeah it is an optical illusion. The tail was probably too long for it to float above so it moved to the side,

Yeah, instead of letting the tail just hand from the back, I took advantage of TM Megatron's more fluid tail and had it swishing to the side. Didn't even notice the illusion till you mentioned it.
