New Battle Patrol (idea stage)

Ok, I'm going to stop hijacking other peoples threads and start talking about this idea here instead. I loved the Micromasters Battle Patrol. I'm thinking of revisiting the team with larger current bots. I'm thinking the line up would be as follows:
Sunrunner from Cybertron Jetfire (or maybe an oversized bootleg of his legends mold so it would be about Deluxe size)

Sidetrack from Cybertron Defense Hot Shot (need to do something to get treads on him)

Bigshot from Movie Wreckage

Flak from Movie Brawl

These last two are the twist, I'm thinking I can take the cannon off Brawl's Turret and put it on Wreckage, and then find a different Missile Battery looking thing for Flak. That way the two of them would have correctly corresponding tracks or wheels.

Interesting. Kind of a pity Big Shot can't be made from something bigger, what with being the leader and all (DW reference), but I like where you're going with it. Looks like a pretty good choice of moulds.
I've actually got an upscaled Micro Patrol on the backburner myself (suitably enough, the Decepticon Military Patrol). Wouldn't it be nice to see 'em face off against each other some time..?

You know, I actually just thought of that - I think he could work well with the right mods. And he'd work nicely against my Bombshock (from Armada Megatron)...

I also loved the micromaster battle patrol. Okay, I only had a KO in the 80's/90's (which I absolutely kind find anymore, but I'm certain that I didn't sell it) but I always loved the look. Have even been thinking of (re)buying this team.

I really like the idea of remaking them. Want to do it myself as well for my RM army (without a clue which molds I'm going to use  )

I think you have a few interesting mold choices, but personally, I would go with some other choices:

For Sunrunner C Jetfire/Sky Shadow is an absolute perfect choice.

I agree with Grimlockprime that Cybertron Defense Red Alert would be a very suitable choice for Big Shot (would work even better if he'd be modded so the canon would fit on his back).

Flak I would make from Cybertron Defense Scattershot.

And for Sidetrack...all I can think of is Armada Megatron (made posable).

Man, you got me tempted to do this myself. (But my choice of molds is a bit too close to my idea for the Dynabots.)

CD Scattershot is a good call for Flak, I've gotta say, but A-Megatron for Sidetrack? That's way off; they don't look the tiniest bit alike. I think Jim's choice of CD Hot Shot is the best one for him, once he's been modded with treads.

Yeah, A megatron would need some serious modding to make him suited as Flak:
- new turret,
- the front of the tank should be filled up and this should flip down to make the new chest
- working knees.

But CD Hotshot with treads instead of wheels is also a good option; I just feel the figure is a bit too small in comparison with the rest

That doesn't have to matter; my Military Patrol is at all scales. Growl is a Basic (E-Strongarm), Dropshot is a Deluxe (CD Hot Shot), Tracer is a Voyager (E-Bulkhead) and Bombshock is an Ultra (A-Megs).

My second choice for Flak is actually Energon Barricade. I am still considering ripping his feet off and just using them on Movie Brawl.

I always hated the CD Red Alert mold, so even though it fits fairly well, I'm most likely never going to use it (funny, because Bigshot was also the only one of the four I hated, I guess it really would be suiting). My problems with it, lack of arm movement. Can his head even turn? Very odd proportions. Trying to picture it without the missile thingy and with a turret instead, but that just makes his torso even fatter and more back heavy. Again, it is a very good choice (who ever said it first) but I can't bring myself to do it.

I had never actually seen those guys before. Too bad they colored them that way. Dropshot is blue for some reason? The only one who's colors look really good is Tracer. Bombshock's green just doesn't look quite military green. But then again have you seen the repainted autobot battle patrol japan got? So bad.

But yea, I'd love to see them face off as well. So what do you guys think, keep them all in the Deluxe scale (since the originals were all about the same size) or make their sizes correspond to their vehical modes?

just bought movie brawl, and I like him so much I may have to buy a second one for the bash. Never figured his arms would be in the turret. This means when I take it off for Flak, the missile battery will have to split and transform into his arms. Also, anyone have a suggestion for a proper sized head that looks more like Flak (humanoid face w/ helmet, Big goggles)

Crap. He really should be Flak, shouldn't he. But I love the Brawl mold so much. Hmmm. (and I can't use that head on Brawl because its way too big)
