A little taste of my current project. Modding is about 80% done, then I'll assemble and paint. Though people might like to see the head though.

I can't remember who posted LoC version. But that was the inspiration for this guy, and I think he's going to come out rather well. Oh, and yes thats a single head made from three heads.

Damn, those are some slick looking heads. How big are they? I wouldn't mind seeing another Punch/Counterpunch Alternators figure, but it would be nicer to see some smaller scaled figures.

That does look tasty. So you've used, what, two Hot Shot faces and the top plate from Punch? It definitely looks like the original helmet.

Well its Punch's helmet and the top half of his head. The lower half of Hot Shot's face for Punch, and then Ransack's face for Counterpunch. The joys of the junk box:)
So Dev this would be one of those smaller scale Punch/ Counter Punchs your talking about, thats a single head and the body mods for him are mostly done at this point. Need to do some more putty work, then paint and assemble. If I'm lucky I'll be able to do the paint this upcoming weekend.

It was me!

I'm actually debating in entering it at Botcon. I personally don't think any of my stuff is worthy of that thing but Several people are bugging the to enter it along with my other LOC customs that I did.

Well thanks for the idea Redline. This guy has been a good deal of work so far, but I'm really happy I tried it.
Still in rough modding phase, but though another teaser of this guy was in order. Of course paint and dye work is still neccessary, however the hard part is complete as you can see. He transforms without any parts removal, and the alt mode when its done will look a little different then Hot Shot's.

Oh, that's looking really nice. I take it you're going to fill in the 'backs' of the upper arms (which face forward in Counterpunch mode). What are you going to do about the hands? I'd suggest two sets which flip round (like, say, Deluxe Energon Prime or Bulkhead), but given the size of Hot Shot's forearms, that'd involve some major re-engineering. Any thoughts on that yet?

That part still has be kinda stumped. There isn't really room to squeeze in another set of hands anywhere. I mean in Alt mode I have zero space anywhere. I can't make the forarms any bigger or the alt mode won't fit together properly. Seriousle considering cheating a little and jsut making his hands so simplistic in look that they can work in both forms. After all when the door wings are on his foreamrs you can't really see the hands all that well anyways. And with the BB forearms I'm using now the wings can swing around to whatever position i need them to for posing and transformation.

I might have a solution if you are interested. Since the backs of the hands are going to be hidden by the doors, you might want to make the backs of the hands another set of palms and fingers in mirror image, and have thehands rotate at the wrist. so that the left hand becomes the right and the right becomes left.

That looks awesome. Very tidy. I think your idea to simplify the hands would work fine on that scale. Can't wait to see more.

That is a possibility. I'll have to figure out if I can mange it with out screwing up the hands first though.

I see a potential flaw there. The doors will be on the backs of
Punch's arms, but they'll be on the
insides of Counterpunch's, unless TG's got something planned to change that.

Looking at the pics he has already posted, it looks like he already has solved that problem

Its hard to see in these pictures but the forearms there are off a Classics Bumblebee, complete with the little black swivel bar that allows the door wings to switch sides when swapping from Punch to his evil counterpart.

Ah, that's cunning. I hadn't spotted that. In which case, I imagine Tramp's suggestion could be a good way round then.

I think tramps idea would work great. If you have the molding stuff or even just an extra pair of hands off some scrap bot, just cut both pairs in half, glue them together as Tramp mentioned and fill in the holes with miliput or epoxy or whatever floats your boat. Then drill a new hole for the weapon peg. That way if yo do use a seprate set of hands you don't have to worry about the peg holes lining up.

I'm seriously thinking of trying it. Just looking for a air of hands to use for it at the moment.

I cut the waist, then added in a twisting joint and filled in the gaps with epoxy putty. I'll get some pics of how it looks before I paint and assemble him. Still a few last modding things to tweak before I get to that though.

Another teaser shot, pretty much all the mod work is done so I started painting things up. The orange stuff I'll start spraying tomorrow, and then I've got some last minute mod things to take care of, then in a couple of days I'll do detail paint and hopefully have him assembled and ready for a gallery by next weekend.

Well I'm an impatient person, luckily nothing got scratched in assembling these parts, and since It will take a day or two to complete the remaining mods on the back and arms so these should have time to finish drying/curing so that they should be nice and chip resistant when he's all done.

Oh and decided to remove the cyber key thing so he's going to get some scratch built weapons thats will store where the wings used to me. Should be interesting, never tried this before.

I love it, it's looking fantastic so far! The paintjob's taken beautifully.
Removing the Cyber Key thing's always a good idea as far as I'm concerned, but even more in this case since he doesn't even need the wings.
And scratchbuilt weapons are great, and don't have to be as hard as you'd think. You can easily make them by cementing together shapes cut from thick styrene, and using bits of thin strip to detail it. And of course making room for rods for the handle and barrel. Fun stuff.

Well totaled a set of hands today trying to cut half off so I could put half of another hand on the bottom for flipping. Of course since I have the second set all was not lost. My order of Green Stuff came in today as well. So I just molded some thumbs onto the bottom of the other hands. Will need paint, but otherwise all is well. Should have jsut waited and gone this way to begin with, but I'm impatient and thought I'd try something new.
In any case tomorrow I'll sand and paint the modded hands, put them back into the wrist, mount the doors to the block that circles the wrist, and then its jsut the weapons I have to do.

Hands are complete now, wrists are painted and drying. Still need to do the weapons, but not as much free time this week as I thought I'd have. Hopefully I'll get my reprolabels in the mail soon with the insignia I need. Thought about rubsigns, but decided with his faction switching thing rubsigns are kind of a mute point, each bot mode will be obvious what side they are with.
Trying to decide on some accent/detail coloring. Thinking silver over the blue for his shins, possibly a silver stripe down the Counterpunch chest as well.
Regardless of labels I'll have an assembled pic for you all by Saturday.
