Here's a work in progress shot of "Oil Slick" repainted as the "General Lee". I still need a couple of details worked out on the alt mode and will be working on his bot mode tonight. I applied a black wash to give him a more weathered look. The labels were printed on an ecosolvent printer at my office. Let me know what you think.

Looks great. What are your plans for the bot mode?

You can see the mockup in the Digibash Sticky.

He he. Are you going to take the windows out so the driver doesn't have to open the doors?

Looks really nice so far. And you say you printed your own labels? Cool.

Thought about the windows, but then I would need to detail the inside. Might be a little to ambitious for a minicon project. :)

Bah! Get over it. You could take the interior details out of a matchbox toy (or hotwheels) If I remember that toy correctly there's even a mold line all around the top of the car mode (his back in bot mode) so all you need to do is figure out a way to keep the support going after its hollowed. Shouldn't be THAT hard.

BTW, your paint job so far looks sweet. Love the weathering on it. Feels gritty.

When I first saw this image I was like "What figure is that? Is that a Mini-con?" I didn't think it was Oil Slick because the paint apps were done so well I figured it had to be a bigger figure. I really can't find any flaws in this one .

Sometimes blackwashes work. sometimes they don't. This fig's definitely a positive one. The stickers look great for home-made too. But it's the bio I'm really looking forward to! :D

This turned out really well :D

Have you thought about blacking out the B-pillar since the chargers didn't have a B-pillar. Oh course the real Cuda's didn't have a B-pillar either :)

Decepticon Retrofit was one of the soldiers that joined Megatron in the attack upon the ark. Not one to take particular enjoyment in the scrapping of fellow transformers, he remained on the outskirts of the battle. When one of Megatron's fusion blasts blew a whole in the side of the ark, he was one of several transformers that were blown out of the ship when it entered Earth's atmosphere. He crashed into a bog, and entered into stasis due to his depleted energon reserves. There he would remain until about the early 1970's. Found by a trio of boys, he was pulled from the muck and taken to their shop for repairs. One of the boys, called "Cooter" by the other two, was really good with his tools. Knowing this was no ordinary machine and not knowing what fuel powered it, he replaced his power system with an alcohol burning engine. This provided Retrofit with enough power to free himself from stasis. Revealing himself to the flabbergasted Cooter, he had the human remove the Decepticon signal beacon. Not exactly sure of where he was, he was hoping he would finally be free from Megatron & his doctrine. The other two boys, known as Bo & Luke Duke, promised to keep his identity secret, and provide him with all the fuel he needs if only he would help them with their delivery business. Retrofit would soon learn he was delivering the same fuel that powered his new Earthly engine. The humans call it Moonshine. Taking on the moniker of "General Lee", this feisty Transformer takes particular pleasure in teasing the local law enforcement with his awesome driving skill and crazy stunts. Luckily for him, the other Transformers don't wake up until 1985, and by that point he's already established his new life in a small Georgia county named Hazzard.

Thanks much. Just tried my best to fuse the two universes together. If only they did similar when they made "Star Wars" TFs. (i.e. my guy is a Tranformer that turns into the General, not a giant Bo Duke that transforms into the General.)

I always wondered how the General survived all those jumps. He's got Cybertronian shocks:)

Pyroclasm, I love your idea.:!:
Since I already want to change my (1st) Cybertron Downshift into General Lee (yes, that would actually be his name and rank.), I was thinking of changing the "General-ized" Oilslick (reprolabels even has a sticker set similar to yours) into a matching Mini-Con partner named Hangtime (an homage to all the "aerial trip-sickery" the General is known for). Hangtime was supposed to be called "Charger", but I thought that seemed too "obvious". Currently he is armed with an Energon crossbow (thanks Arcee), as he's an officer on "probation". (Otherwise, I want him to use either G1 or Energon Supercon Optimus Prime's rifle.)

:?: I guess I like the Downshift mold because I see design cues from nearly every Transformers series and generation in him. His transformation style and rocket launchers are G1, His fist holes are "Decepti-plane/Targetmaster/Powermaster/large-Pretender"-sized, his "only in another time period" colors are G2, his ball-and-socket joints are BW/BM, His scale is RiD (and 1987 Targetmaster), his Minicon powerlink points are Armada/Energon, and his Cyber Key point is clearly Cybertron.

General Lee's backup mini-con (a repaint of Downshift or Six-Speed) would have been named after the Charger's brother in Chrysler (and my old H.S.'s mascot), Roadrunner.

The chest paintjob is incredible! :D I don't know whether or not the bars on the chest are decals or painted, but I like them all the same. When I saw Oilslick's Visor it reminded me of the classic yellow visor of Cyclops.

I have access to a font editing program, so making an "01" that looks like the General's is no major chore, but I must ask, what size (height/width) are your "01" decals?

Olds, looking at your sig, I have to ask: Have you ever considered doing an Oilslick as Megas's "Headmaster"? Off-the-card Oil Slick looks like Megas's brother already.
