This is my Movie Soundwave with Rumble. I'ts obvious to use Barricade becasue he already ejects Frenzy. Well I just repainted some parts, not all. I also modded the head, just gave him a visor and a mouth cover. Well I hope you guys like him.

It looks pretty good. I like the head. You did a good job on it. The only thing I'd change about it is maybe try and redo the line on the faceplate and add more blue to the car mode! No need to be stingy with paint. Otherwise *thumbs up* I really like how Frenzy looks in those colors as well. Very nice.

So did you remold the head yourself? I think it looks rather nice. Almost makes me want to buy one and do that.

...Almost.

I must admit, the face mod looks like it could use a rework, like you basically wrapped a piece of card round the mouth and drew some lines on it. But I like the subtle paint mods you've made, I think they get the character across quite nicely.

Still think you should've done Soundwave fluorescent yellow, and Frenzy purple, though...

I like where you are going with this idea. Might I suggest you try a mostly blue paint scheme on the car? Maybe similar to this NYPD car?

hey chin up, this looks better then anything I could ever come up with, not to mention a good use of barricade for a different character.. dont be discouraged submitting something to the masses (EXSPECIALY these masses) can result in some serious mud slinging. Dont let a few negative opinions sway you.

you poor bugger, my kitbashes are virtually non-existent, i was in the middle of a tidalwave to broadside bash, moved and left it behind, the new tenants had thrown the bag it was in away!

Other than that I had a skids which was repainted to silver diaclone colours and thats about it, i'm too much of a perfectionist for kitbashing I think, something goes wrong in the paint and i'd want to take it off and do it again.

I know what i seem to be good at and i'l prob stick to that

it's probably better than this custom though. I guess I'll stick with Marvel Legend Customs. Tfs aren't my thing...

Hey, like I said, I like most of it, it's just the face that looks a smidge off. But if you're happy with it, then that's the important thing - it's your toy, you didn't do it for us.
As PF says, if you submit something to a bunch of artists, you'll get a mix of compliment and criticism. You can take criticism too much to heart and decide never to submit anything again, you can disagree with it (after all, in art, things are rarely right or wrong, but subjective), or you can take it on board and use it to improve your work and try to do better next time.

If you fancy continuing doing TF mods, go for it. Don't let a few knocks put you down.

Hey, don't get so downhearted, man. Part of art is getting some harsh critiques. You just have to take it in stride and remember none of it is to be taken personally. It's not an attack on yourself or anything. It's just citing things that might need work. They're just trying to help. Sometimes a bit more tact could be used, but still.

Don't give it up just cuz of a few people. You really only need to pay attention to one person, and that person is yourself. If you're happy with what you're doing, then to hell with everyone else!

The head kinda reminded me of the old Maxx cartoon (comic originally?). Gives the bash some character.
The paint job looks a little uneven in places, but you did a good job with the colour layout. I'd sugest losing the white doors and paint them either black or blue.
Most of the time the criticisms are to try and help you improve things. Keep at it if you enjoy it and don't let the negative get you down too much.

wtf? let's see some of your customs and have a nice "no offense" critique.

Tranman-
Good idea. Maybe you could paint more of the car blue than the parts you did to make it more complete.

I dunno... I've noticed the people on this forum are actually very kind to one another and seem to realize when someone is trying a new technique. It's not that way with every forum though, certainly...

It needs a little more work, but you're off to a good start! I, too, recommend using some plumber's epoxy putty for making face plates.

Looks good Tran Man. I'd love to see a more distant photo of them both together - a full body shot - I reckon they make for a better team than the original movie toy release. Nice one.

I remember you replied to my very first post on Transtopia so I'd like to say thanks for that.
I really like what you've done with this.
Try not to let critisism put you off working with Tf's as most of it is constructive and there are some really great suggestions in those replies. I think your idea is really awesome and I think this bash/repaint would look even better if you took on some of the ideas suggested.
What you have there is a great base for a great homage to Soundwave youv'e already achived that much because there is'nt a tf fan out there that would look at that picture and not know who it was.

Frenzy/Rumble doesn't need any work he's just great as he is.

I would possibly take on Pyroclasms suggestion of having most of the car blue but colour is a very subjective thing so go with what you think looks best.
Just going over the blue again will solve the paint issue, I had similar problems and critisisms over my first project (the one you posted very kindly about:) ) and was surprised at just how many coats of paint i had put on to get it looking right (and I'm still not 100% happy with it).

I myself have been using card to make my scorponok face it took god knows how many attempts to get it looking right it's just a case of trail and error.

This a great bash/repaint with a little tweaking it could be a truly awesome bash/repaint so I hope you havent given up on this or working with TFs in general.

p.s Sorry for rambling on in an old thread (and not even saying anything new) just thought I'd give my two cents.
