Didn't think I would, but I've gotten hooked on the movie bots. Now I'm just trying to flesh out some ideas for a set of combaticons.
My first thought after getting blackout was to stick a bigger noggin on him.

But I think this shuffle may be what I end up going with.

Or should I go with unique heads for everyone? Put blackout's on brawl and Wreckage's on blackout for vortex?

Cool,i've been planning some movie combiners as well, like defensor,i'll probably make hotspot out of ratchet,a menasor and a devastator are also in my planning. this combaticon thing looks okay.

there is a Dune Buggy comming out next year, if you feel you can wait, I suggest using that for Swindle instead of Wreckage. he is also suppose to be a Deluxe.

IF you made Hotspot out of a Ratchet, what would you use for First Aid,
He was the Ambulance.

That new osprey mold looks pretty nice, not sure if he'd work for blades tho. The G1 Ratchet Repaint should look good as First Aid.
These movie bot's have me hooked, now I'm starting to work on stunticons too. Seeing clay's fine work, I'm gonna swap heads between prime and ironhide for onslaught and motormaster. I just need to find me a voyager prime and a deluxe '08 Bee.
Working on a leg mod for vortex. Then I just need to work out a way to attach his head. Looks like this will take me awhile, but things a shaping up.

Blast Off's green looks off. He's really supposed to be a brown/green, or olive green.
I'd also stay away from Prime for Onslaught, since the mold is more suitable for a Motormaster or Scourge or Ultra Magnus. I mean, not that you can't change things, but it gets a little crazy when you have too many, even if they're not all done by you.

Some WIP pics of my vortex leg mod. Well I got the idea from seeing a Blackout as Springer digi over at tfw2005.

Just need to fatten his foot a bit, then add the extra bit of cargo panel as a heel stop. Just hope it doesn't snap under the weight.

Taking a bit of a break from that tho to break out the paint.

Unfortunately I ran out of blue , so I'll have to grab another can to finish him up.

Well Vortex is still on my work table and I'm already trying to crack open Wreckage. I'm not doing very well with the soldering iron on these new movie bots tho. (Worked alot better on my alts)

I'd hoped to notch his waist abit so it can slide forward and give it a bit more rotation. But this pin and the glue holding his torso together may kill that plan. Sometime I can't help myself tho, when it comes to taking transformers apart. Either way, Bumblebee's head and a coat of paint will turn him into Swindle.

Well, only got the pin halfway out. It's one of the stupid ones with the ridges. But his waist has about a quarter turn more swivel now. Paint job is underway too.

It's going a bit slow tho. If I take more than a few strokes at a certain spot, the paint starts to wipe off. I feel like I should just spray it then repaint the camo.
Also working on some arms for screamer.

Needs a bit of carving still, so the bicep sits flush and still rotates. Then I can glue it in place and work on attaching it to the shoulder. I've still got to look through my parts and decide what I'm going to do for legs.

Swindle has a head now at least. His body's still going to take awhile.

I have some time off work, so I'll see if I can pick up the pace a bit. And once I get done modding the rest of the group, at least they should be easier repaints.

Great project!
I was in the TF toy isle at walmart lookin at the movie toys only to see so many army vehicles....And I wondered..

...Bruticus would be awesome and so detailed.. I dropped the project as it would have cost too much to buy the movie toys without knowing if I could pull it off.
So I say...Go for it!!!!! Makes those movie toys worth their G1 ancestors!!

I'd love to do Devastator but what movie toys to do it with???

I've got ideas for computron and defensor, but devastator would be a tough one withput some extensive mods. Bonecrusher, payload and the tow truck would work. Maybe mod payload into a cement mixer? Do the tow truck as hook and longhaul, then mod a few bonecrushers into the rest.
Anyways, still plugging away at this project.

Just about done with Vortex's legs. And despite my worries, he actually stood without his heel breaking.

Hadn't planned on it, but I think I'm going to swap the hands out as well.

Well a little miscalculation with the hand has me taking a different approach now.
In the meantime, I'm nearly done with Swindle.

He's pretty rough in some places, which the flash really hilights.
Give me a little more room on my work table now at least.

I really like Swindle as the armored personnel carrier. Goes a long way to fixing the problems I had with the G1 combaticon scales even as a child.

Finally picked up a voyager prime. So now I can start thinking about how I'm going to put this all together (or if it will even work

).
Started digging through my lego pile looking for things that might work. I have a pretty good idea what to do with brawl and swindle. Thought I had something that would work for vortex without needing extensive mods, but I ran into a problem.

The connections fit together well, but the arm is too heavy to support. The ball joint won't hold and prime's arm gets torqued out of position. Tried moving the connection point further up, but that didn't help. Looks like I should just try and make static connectors if I want this to work.

instead of a ball joint you might want to try a pair of ratcheted disk joints. Energon Landmine/Landquake is always a good donor for them and tends to be for sale in junk lot. His are very flat and compact, and can hold quite a bit of weight. Also, if the mount that holds them comes down over the top of primes collar instead of up from the sides, gravity will be working with you instead of against you.

Well, back when i had the idea, there had just been a few pics of movie swindle on the net,so at that point i thought they'd make the forklift drones as well,in which case i'd basically kitbash four of them to become different kinds of vehicle modes, and then as the middle TF i'd have used Bonecrusher in green.
