Jumping on the bandwagon, I decided to pick up one of the Deluxe figs to repaint; picking between Swindle and Bonecrusher wasn't easy. I almost wasn't gonna bother with any of the movie figs, but I actually really like this little fella! I'm taking a little creative licence with the colours, but I think he's looking pretty cool so far.
The finished repaint will be going up on the 'Bay...

That is a nice job with the weathering. Can't wait to see how you treat the alt-mode.

Just noticed tho... Is that one tire molded in a different colour, or are you painting all of those as well?

Ah, well spotted. Yeah, they're being painted too, at that point the first one had just been basecoated. The two on the right leg have been drybrushed up now.
Glad he's going down well (fingers crossed that translates into profit... ;)). I'm actually having to make up the weathering from scratch; I tried to find pictures of a weathered Buffalo, and all but one was completely pristine! It's almost like they never actually use 'em... :? The ineer robot colours are different to both the movie and toy, but I personally thought neither had enough contrast; the movie version was almost all the same colour, and the toy colours were... weird and bland in my book. I wound up using my colour-blindness for inspiration...

yay, I'm not the only color-blind (or rather color deficient to be more accurate) one here!

He he. Yeah... as annoying as it can be sometimes ("Whaddaya mean, that grey's lilac?"), sometimes colourblindness can work in our favour...

Colors are weird, especially on the chest. But the paint application looks wonderful. Love the weathering effect.

How'd you mean? The main chest colour is basically terracotta, shaded then highlighted with a light sand. The metallic part is GW Tin Bitz, highlighted up with titanium gold in some parts and brass in certain detail bits. If it's the unevenness you're referring to, it may be because only his right side is painted at the moment; I painted it using the left side as reference, now the right side's done, I can do the left using the right as reference.

COuld be that it's the unevenness. Not sure. Maybe if he's finished the colors will work better.

I just feel that the the colours don't work too well together. The terracotta is a nice enough color and it works wonderfully with the the metallic on the leg. Just not with the sandy colour.

Hm, looking at the pic I suddenly get the impression the sandy colour will be completely replaced with the terracotta...
