The Energon Pub

This week I have two new customs finished. First is a personal favorite of mine going way, way back to pay homage to the very first Transformer custom I made... Shockwave! Big thanks to David Willis and TFmaster for jump-starting me into TF customizing. The story goes, Willis liked his Energon Shockblast and I couldn't stand the giant arm. Wanting to prove it could be better, I created the old Shockwave with that Microman gun arm. TFmaster saw it and liked it so much he asked if I'd post on Transtopia.com, thus introducing me to my first TF message boards!

Ok, first Shockwave. He's complex, lots of magnets, modular weaponry, and a light-up system that can be plugged in to different weapons in different modes. He turns into a Space Cannon mounted on a tripod. You could still alter him into a gun-mode but since I'm selling him on EBay I don't want to show pics of that or they'll make me stick a gaudy orange plug on the end, bleh. I'm not crazy about that Shockwave, but Meantime is bitchin'. If I could fit the guy around my wrist I'd copy that mod.

I think they are both pretty awsome. Once again you've made some great figures with fantastic paint detail. I was disappointed when I saw my son's Meantime and discovered the watch wasn't real. I think I'd really like to try this mod. And the larger size of the watch still goes well with the band. Shockwave looks like a good base design for a custom (sixgun?) for metroplex. Its a different take on shockwave, but I like it. I didn't see any listing on where you picked up the shoulder weapons from.

Thanks everyone! You can put just about any flat-backed watch on Meantime and if I can find another I'll do a tutorial.

The shoulder cannons came from the same MARS toy set at Wal Mart. Ya have to look in the 'generic gift isle' where they have the toys in red boxes, the non-brand ones.

Woah, I totally missed this but Shockwave there looks exactly like his Action Master counterpart with the orange chest! No wonder I liked the orange for some reason, I had seen it before.

Ah, but you didn't paint the gun-arm orange too...

I love the shoulder guns you gave shockwave, the lights, all the add ons, but I have to say I like the paint job you did on your last one more. I've been searching for a grayed out purple to paint mine up closer to your last one. Oh, and I love classic primes shoulders on there.
