First of all, i realize that a sniper rifle may not be very much the style of a character like Arcee, who likes to be fast; sniping is normally done while standing or sitting still, and few sniper rifles are practical for actual fighting, except in halo, but for that matter, a bow is probably even less of a "speedy" weapon.

Anyway, the idea just came to my head, and i spent two or three days making it, and although i did not intend it exclusively for Arcee, she was the main figure that i intended it for, so i put the handle on the right side, and customized it to fit her well. For example, i put the scope on, at just the right length/angle, that if the figure holds it a certain way, the scope is in almost perfect alignment wih her right eye.

So now for some pics, sorry i'm not very good at taking pictures, even these have been edited a bit with irfanview, and for some reason, some pics look yellow towrds the center, i don't know why.





Here she is standing with the rifle, in a way someone normally might, with a rifle nearly as long as their hight.



Here is the rifle itself, i figured it would probably have a 10 or 12 round mag, and the fatter part, towards the front end would be a noise suppressor, and also have inside it, an electromagnetic accelerator, that would double the velocity, as i figured it would use somewhat weak cartridges, to make ammo more compact, and so that the recoil would not knock a small TF like Arcee down to use it.



None of the details show up in this picture, and it looks like there is a lighter splotch on the body of it, but there is not. you can still see pretty much what it looks like though.

Here is a dramatic-ish shot of Arcee standing with the "Hypersniper rifle", as i call it, observing a dead insecticon, sort of like one might see in a war movie, a soldier doing the same, but stairing at a dead enemy or destroyed vehicle, in a post warzone setting.



So there it is, what does everyone think? BTW it was made mostly from junk, and scrap material, with some styrene and metal rods, mostly where pieces join, so it would be very strong/secure.

As side notes, Arcee's skirt/windshield looks a bit discolored in some pics, i think that is because of the green wall behind it, and if anyone is wondering what i put the figure(s) on to take pictures of them, it is small boxes with paper towels put over them.

And also, though i am not sure what gave me the idea to do this, once i got the idea, i simply could not resist! How many of you recognize this?

That's pretty good. Looks more like a hunting weapon but its still very good.

What did i use to make it? the barrel is two different widths of plastic sprue, (scrap from some model kits.) the body of the gun, is made from sections taken from a couple of other weapons, one from a gundam toy, the other from a gundam model, (neither gun of which i really liked, or used with them.) which was a bit of a lazy way, since i would have hauled out some sheet styrene if i did not find junk that i could cut up for parts that i could use for this. The scope, again, is made from scrap sprue, though the rear section i think was the stick fron some candy pop thing, (obviously thouroughly cleaned first!) the rod the scope is mounted on, is 1/16 brass rod, the magazine is three layers of .040" sheet styrene, and the part that wraps over the top of the barrel, that the scope is attached to, is a section of either a left, or right half of a drop tank from an aircraft model, i have no idea what model, or even aircraft it was from, as i usually leave these off, or at most, put them in a scrap box for use in projects like this. for the handle on the side, (probably not visable in the pics above.) i found a piece of particularly wide sprue, that fit the size of holes the TF toys have for their origanal weapons, and i used a piece of that.

Were i to make another, i would probably do it almost completly from sheet/rod styrene, because i had to do a lot of hacking/sanding as it was. If i make any more TF weapons, i will probably get a bunch of sizes of of this stuff from the local hobby place, so that at least nothing will be jerry-rigged.

About looking like a hunting weapon, i had a scope from a gundam weapon that i was going to use instead of what i did use, and was going to mount it absolutely on top, but it really made it look like a hunting rifle, which though i like the looks of a lot of those, it was not the aesthetic i was wanting; i wanted it to look more militaristic/modern. Even though when i test fitted the other scope, it did not have the large mag sticking out of the bottom, i thought it would still look to much like a common deer gun with the origanal scope i intended for it. Also, i was going to put a piece on the side of the scope, that would look like some modern laser and/or night vision aparatus, but forgot. I could still do it, but would likely need to repaint the scope afterwards, so i probably won't.

Still though, i would imagine that Arcee would be using it to hunt with, if there were to be an open season on the Insecticons!

Anyway, glad to hear that it is good, i origanally thought i would paint the entire gun, but could not figure out what color, and my mom and dad thought it looks realistic as it is, so at least for now, if not ever, i'll leave it like it is.

I think it fits well into her "classics" persona. I think where you chose to connect the scope to the gun is kinda out of place. I think it should be more centralized. Other than that, it's a gun I would own.

Also, sweet frikken gun. Strangely, the whole design, a slightly off-center scope and electromagnetic acceleration...ever see the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie "Eraser"? It has a gun with an electromagnetic barrel, and an X-Ray scope, so it can see through walls.

I knew anout the semper fi thing, (and have heard that some like to mock the marines by telling them wimper si ) but am pretty certain that is not what he said. Now that you mention it, his tone of voice (esp. with that radio-like buzziness.) probably makes it hard to tell what he said, though i think that was typical in RvB.

It has, however, been a long time since i saw RvB though...

Oh, and, in case it confused anyone about the weaker cartridge thing i mentioned, yet the gun has such a big magazine jutting out from the bottom, keep in mind that Arcee is a motorcycle, not a semi-truck, big jet, tank, etc., so it might look big compared to the gun, and of course, Arcee, but really would not be all that huge.

for the off-center scope,i had seen some pictures of various military sniper rifles that the scope mounts attached to the foreward section of the scope, and i thought that i would like it better that way, so that's why it it like that.

I got all 100 episodes on my computer. Episode 19 (That being the Season 1 Finale), he definitely says "Semper Fi!"

Though, yeah, because of the fuzz they used to imitate radio noises (Plus they didn't have the best equipment around), it's kind of hard to hear.

It was one where the blue guys were watching them with sniper rifle, one asks what the red guys are doing, and he says something about the're just standing there, and talking, "that's all the're doing, that's all they ever do, is just stand there, and talk. That's what they were doing last week, that's what they were doing five minuetes ago when you asked me...so five minuetes from now, when you ask me "what are they doing", my answer is going to be, the're still just talking, and the're still just standing there."

Then he says "What are they talking about?" and so then Tucker says "You know what, i F*****g hate you."

That episode, wasn't that the first episode? Where can i watch the old episodes of RvB? I'd like to see them again.
