Galvatron Cannon Mode WIP- Partially "Jin-spired"

I've wanted to do something like this since I bought this figure, but I never got around to doing more than removing his wings and making a new fusion cannon. Now that Jin's made not one but two Galvatrons I had to take a stab at it. I think I managed to put my own stamp on it.

My real problem is that the socket that I made for the cannon is too tight. I don't know how I'll ever keep paint on it. The base of the cannon is made from parts from Marvel Legends Iron Man's jet pack. The crown on the socket that it plugs into is a part that I found in the street ages ago. Never throw anything out people.
The shoulders are going to get tank treads as soon as I can find a set that's the right size.
I'll post robot mode pics when I work out how the cannon will attach to his arm.
In a funny twist, I seem to have been channeling 'The Next Generation when I made this. When I got him all together, I realized that he looks a bit like an exocomp http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Exocomp This was not my intent. but it's still funny.

This is my original fusion cannon- made out of that horrid little tank that he came with. I still like it.

i can´t see the pics because the owner of the site thought it would be better to stomp a fewhundred Ads on there instead of having a working forum, and clicking "show picture" doesn't work on european computers.

A few updates:

Still a bit of painting to do. Got to add the orange to the barrel. I'm following Jin's lead on that one and using his tip about layering clear orange over the silver. I'll have to pick that up tomorrow. I think the structure is all in with the exception of those front treads. I'm going to have to keep my eyes pealed for the right thing to use...
Comments and crits are welcome.

Did you use megsy or galvy as a base mold?

Galvatron. I've had him since he was originally in stores. I didn't even collect from the Energon line. I just saw him and thought that he looked cool. I had been satisfied with the minor tweaks that I'd made until I saw Jin's take on him, and I realized that I had to bring up my game.
His paint job's almost perfect as is, so all I have to do is blend in the new parts and do a few touch ups.

I'm looking at doing one of these myself, so I'm curious to see what other are up to :-)

I've been posing him with the legs down like you have 'em in alt mode. Makes sort of a hover tank type look.

Not sure I'm in love with the giant cowling. Makes for a lot of back kibble.

I'm trying to figgure a way to get the handle on his back and to move the shoulder pauldrons above his shoulders (as opposed to his arms).

Adding the handle is no biggie, but it wrecks the ability to use the existing cockpit area to mount the main gun. :-? :-?

Adding the shoulder thingies, again, is no biggie, but it has a big affect on the transform.

I'm working mainly from these ref pics :

Goos luck with yours! It's coming along nicely!

Personally, I like the shoulder thingies! The back kibble is a but much thuogh, I'll admit. And I haven't even found my treads yet! I have been giving some thought to a handgun mode, but the back kibble makes it tricky, and it was never even used in the show.
Thanks and good luck. Be sure to post yours when you're done! (Or when you start, if I only posted when I was done, I'd hardly post anything!)

I hear that!

I barely have time to work on stuff, let alone post anything.

If I get one custom done a month I feel lucky!

In any event, keep up the good work!
