Movie Leader Prime's skinny new arms
Posted: Mon Feb 04, 2008 10:57 pmI didn't like Leader OP's oversized forearms, so I trimmed them down a bit (click the pic to see more of it w/o scrolling):
I simply removed the lower half of the forearm and capped it off w/ plastic, then painted it red. You'll need to trim down the screw bosses for an even surface. IMHO it's closer to the movie arms, which appear to have a flat red part on the underside.
This mod does do away w/ the slide-out cannon and the flip-out blaster, neither of which was movie-accurate to begin with. The cannon still needs the mount to hold it in place, but that swings out of the way when not needed.
EDIT- forgot to add, I also had to glue a spacer block inside each rear fender to take up the space that was formally filled by the forearm bulk. I used a small red Lego block, the color is perfect and it's barely visible. Pics later.
