i bought a Heros of Cybertron figure and cut her at the joints with an exacto knife.
then i put in wire inserts and... ta-Da!
fully posable Arcee to scale with my G1 figures.
if only she could transform.

Wow that is pretty impressive, I like what you ahve done there. Have any pics on how you did it?
Also I moved this to the custom forum so it can be with all the other cool custom Transformers. I left a shadow thread in the toys forum so it can still get some notice there.

sorry, no making of pics...
didnt think that far in advance.
i just used a regular old exacto knife and some black wire... you can get it at walmart in the hardware dpt.
cut the wire in like 2 cm pieces, cut it at an angle, so the end has a sharp point to it. Make a a small hole where u want to insert it... u can use a needle or a thumbtack...whatever.
i use neddlenose pliars to hold the wire when i heat it up with a bic lighter... the wire will insert much easier if hot.
insert one end of the wire into the limb, the other end into the torso.
done.
takes a steady hand and determination. i dont sugjest trying this out on somthing rare if its yer first time...
get somthing crappy to practice on.
oh ya, beware of blisters... youll get em.

I had an idea for a custom Arcee, just not experienced enough to follow through. I was planning on placing Energon Arcee's head on Cybertron Override GTS's body but first they'd need to be repainted into G1 Arcee's colors. oh well.
Nicely done by the way.

Great imagination....never thought of turning a non-articulated product like that into an action figure before!

It won't looks too good. Overide's head is twice as big as Arcee's. She'll be a pinhead if you do that. You would need a more appropriate sized head for the project.

Beautiful. Shame it can't transform (and that would be a massive undertaking) still...more skills than I'll ever have.
Why? Patience. I lack it, in spades. lol

the process works with anything made of a soft plastic...
i confess i havent done much with the knowledge yet, because i just dont have the time...
eventually i will take on those cool but annoyingly un poseable Mcfarlane figures i have:)
