I took him apart, cut his waist in half, filled the gaps (his waist has two hollow spaces, so the two halves had bits shaped like 3's) with epoxy putty, sanded them flat when it was set, measured and drilled a hole in the center of each half, then connected them with an extra hinge pin.

Interesting, but can he still transform?

I would imagine it does still transform since the overall dimensions of the toy are still the same, it's just that what was onece a solid piece is now two parts which move.

...and if you're wondering if it's really the same Armorhide:

I wasn't doubting you, I just know how cutting and reconnecting can shorten and/or lengthen pieces and wanted to know if it worked.

Squeaker's right, though, an Armorhide that awesome needs a trailer. I remember from the board pre-crash that there's some kind of Hot Wheels Action Transports or something like that? One of them has a trailer that opens up and is the perfect scale for Armorhide....

I was working on one, until I managed to melt the plastic down (by using an industrial Paint Stripper... whoops... )

But yes, the Hot Wheels Truckin' Transports... I'm sure that most of them will work (all you need to do is sand down the peg to get it to fit into Armorhide's 5th Wheel)...
