Here's my second custom...Took a G1 Headmaster Nightbeat and converted it into a custom G1 Headmaster Minerva. It's still alittle rough arond the edges and with NO stickers, had to hand paint the red crosses and the red racing stripes.

It looks good from a design standpoint, but your paint application isn't the greatest. Its laid on too thick and uneven, and it has a blobby/cheap look to it.

For future works I'd suggest taking the extra time to apply multiple, thinner layers (mixing your paint with a little bit of water to thin it out can help)... Or I'd suggest saving your money up and get an actual Minerva- nightbeat had such a cool paintjob from the start

Getting an even paint job can be one of the hardest thing in making customs. Avoiding brush stroke and "blobiness" can be tough.

Thinned paint is one method. But, especially with white it can be very difficult!

Spray paints, either from a spray can, or from an airbrush work wonders.

To get even lines using masking tape (I especially like the blue tape found in hardware stores) is a big help. Even then you can get bleed through, but this is generally easier to clean up than when you work by hand.

And repainting classic, hard to find, G1 TFs can get you booo-ed, unless they are already broken or something :-)

Good luck in your future painting!

Nice choice of paints. Other than the rough paint application, I say you didn't do half-bad of a job.
