Galvatron WIP using Cybertron Supreme Starscream

Hi guys,

Been out of the customising lately. Have a WIP on the new figure I am doing.. Maybe I am obsessed with a decent looking Galvatron.

Still a long way to go I know, need to smooth the body and joints but painted to see what the result may look like. Now I need to repaint it again..

This is a WIP and actually, I have removed the wings from the croutch. Looks much better without it. Working on some plastic and mold at the moment to add to the figure.

Anyway, give me some tips if anyone got some ideas.

Thanks,

You can see my WIP here:

Was surprised how well the Starscream Supreme Class can be used for the Galvatron figure.

Pretty good- you'd never know it was Starscream! The one thing I would say is that the arm gun seems a little big; I know Megatron's cannon was pretty huge but I'm fairly sure Galvatron's is a little smaller than that. Nice conversion though!

You hold tons of potential. Your ideas are unique, well executed, and have an effect. A lil practice in sculpting and you'd be even greater.

Hi,

Thanks for the comments.

Cactus: Yes, the Megatrons usually have a larger gun. I thought about it too. This figure is massive. I tried to put a smaller gun on him and it just made him look wimpy. Moreover, I also thought by using the Cybertron base figure, the end result needs to be a little G1 and Hybrid. So, decided on the big weapon. Actually wanted to fine something abit smoother and in a cylinder shape.. But I think this works well for now.

Sherade: Your comments are definitely well appreciated. I usually want to think of something not everyone has done and attempt to do a decent effort of it. Definitely not ace at custom, but I will need lots of practice. Any tips you can give me, I would really appreciate it.

Anyway, the Galvatron is not complete yet and I think you guys will like the next iteration. I am spending a bit more time on this one. And I have also updated the Bumblebee too.

I will post photo of my next iterations soon.

Thanks so far. Any other comments, good or bad :-( will be appreciated.

Well, here's my tip.
A lot of your sculpting looks like it's just been hand shaped and painted. Some fine grit sandpaper and dremeling should help you shape your clay -or sculping material of your choice- keep a clean, robot like look, and this will help paint application and bring out a truly even look.
BTW, you are very professional in your responses, as always, keep it up!

Thanks Sherade,

I will give you suggestion a crack...

Regarding Professional response, must be the habit of work and I wanted to ensure I respect everyone on the board who kindly provides comments.

To answer your question about hand sculpting. Yes, that was what I did with it so you definitely have an expert eye.
