sorry, couldn't come up with a better subject title. I'm so obsessed with these G1 Classics I've decided to try to recreate all my favorite original autobot cars. Here's Prowl. Repaint of cybertron smokescreen. testors white and black spray paint found in garage. stickers are homemade using inkjet printer, cd labels, packing tape and knife. The police logo belongs to California Highway Patrol with light blue replacing their purple. It's the closest "real" logo I could find that looked similar to Prowl's original logo. His red forehead boomerang thingie is made from a red burger king straw. cut from the long way to retain it's curve. the police lights where stolen from RID prowl.

Do any of you have any ideas on what else would be solid G1 repaints that would fit well with the classics line?

-Obviously bluestreak out of this same mold.
-I'm thinking I might do Inferno out of RID optimus.
-hoist and trailbreaker out of movie ratchet and movie ironhide
-jazz, I might repaint the movie one.
-but I really really want to make tracks, sunstreaker, sideswipe, red alert and hound. maybe hound out of movie ratchet and not hoist? I don't know.

I love how it looks, but it just doesn't scream Prowl for me.

But he still looks great regardless.

I made a Sideswipe out of a Classics Hot Rod(imus?) Energon Downshift is my Classics Wheeljack, no paint required! Towline as Ratchet & Ironhide. Armorhide as Brawn (I know, I know but I don't like Huffer!) Energon Superion & Bruticus work too. I'm still trying to figure out which Beast Wars/Machines would make the best Dinobots, Insecticons and (ironically enough) Predacons. Still drawing a blank on some but I think thats enough for anybodies shelf! For now, anyway...

Danm! Thats real nice, not my first choice for Prowl but I cant argue with how cool he looks

hey, you got any pictures of these guys? Sideswipe?:D regarding the dinobots, I think somethings don't require classic remakes, i.e. soundwave, perceptor, and yes the dinobots, still look too awesome to improve on. This is just my preferance. I have all the dinobots and I can't see them getting any better. I have energon downshift too and he is my wheeljack but something's just not right about him. I think it's all that green. Hasbro must of had a ton of that stuff laying around. they used it way too much during the energon toyline. I also hate his tires. maybe I'll fix him up a bit before I move on to other things.

no, no pics (no camara!) I agree the Dinobots don't need improvement. i can't top them. but i also don't own them (again and yet) and classics Girmlock looks... out of place alone.

This looks really good. Nice job. With him being predominately black, kinda looks Barricade-ish. Genious idea with the straw.

Actually I do have a soft spot for the little guy, just no inspiration. Maybe a minicon but I don't know anything about any of them.

There was a spectacular repaint of Cybertron Ransack a while back. As for Minicons though, I can't think of any that bear a resemblance.

Here is the core group of Classics Autobots to showcase my Sideswipe. Sorry but no Brawn as he was made as a gift for a friend.
EDIT: Grr that's too small but it's the best I could do right now.

Sideswipe looks great. I wish I could see some close ups. To be honest I wasn't sure when you mentioned it earlier, but looking at it here it really really works! just finished painting my bluestreaker out of smokescreen's mold. paint's drying. I'll post it tomorrow.
hey, clocker might be your wheelie? he might be mine.

ok, I can't stop looking at sideswipe. what did you do with the engine? what about the head? any other modifications?

YOU'RE WISH IS GRANTED!

I dremeled the engine completely out and made a cap of sheet foam. At first I was going to try to copy a G1 head and swap from the brow up to make it look more like Sideswipe but 2 problems arose:

1) I haven't had any luck with molding yet.
2) I can't find my reissue to make a mold of.

So I just painted the head black and it works. Now all I need is to find my Autobot symbol sticker sheet and it's all set.

how do you make a mold out of a head or anything really? I've got the original sideswipe from my childhood. if I learn how and I mold it successfully I could send you one. is there a thread that covers molding?

Molding is an expensive & time consuming (re:waiting) pain in the butt that takes a lot of practice. Or I suck. So thanks for the offer but I'm good for now. Good luck on yours! BTW I'm not the first person to do this (or the best) so if you want to see better pics of the same custom, try the TFMaster forums.
No plans for a Red Alert on my end (never really got into him) so good luck on yours!

I like the robot mode, it really fits; I'm not so sure about the alt mode though. I'm kinda lukewarm on the Veyron anyway, sometimes I really like it, other times I think it's fugly. But either way, I don't think it works as a police car. But yeah, robot mode kicks tailpipe.

Picked up another Armorhide from TRU today so who should he become? Brawn was kind of a stretch (meaning the friend I made him for didn't guess it was Brawn!) and Huffer, well, is Huffer. So this ones a demo to show you guys how it would look. So you guys choose. Even if its a Microbot don't worry I've got both volumes of Dreamwaves profile books. I'll check back tomorrow (Friday) after I get home from work around 11 pm est to see what you pick and I'll get started right away!

not sure him as brawn. hmm. if you don't like huffer maybe pipes? you almost don't have to do much. I got armorhide too and I don't know what to do with him either. I was never really into the mini guys because of the whole scale thing brawn should have been bigger than the cars in robot mode. huffer and pipes too. I don't know.
finished up bluestreak but I'm out of town. will get pictures of him up on monday.
