I'm looking for gold plating type paint and chrome. Doing a standard google search it appears that Krylon Gold #1706 is the best I can get along with Krylon Silver Chrome #1010.
Is this the best i can get? Will it bond with plastic for repaints? Looking for advice on this.

NOOOOO!!!!! If you looking for a flat sorta like an aluminum look then by all means buy it. If you want chrome chrome...theres only 2 companys i'd suggest. Alsa has a decent version. They do make it in a spray balm. Also sell it in qt's ...mucho expensive..i think my price is $900 something for a qt...and to be honest i think the spray can is sample. But im sure it list for $1000 something. Now House of Kolor made a Chrome and gold chrome effect paint. "Kosmic Chrome"
MC00-Mirror Reflective Effect $69.62 List
MC01-Aluminum Effect $69.62 List
MC02-Copper Effect $69.62 List
MC03-Bronze Effect $69.62 List
MC04-Gold Effect $69.62 List
Now these come in a 1/2 pint can and are Ready to spray. That is if you have a spray gun. Or Airbrush. I'm currently using the MC00 and its frickkin AWESOME as for a chrome look...not like hasbros..but suffice. And if you use a bright ground coat it will intensify the effect. Like for instance a Metallic will make it more bright or a gold will leave a goldish chrome...not super noticable..but noticeable. I painted the gun on Classics grimlock to look like the Henkei vesion and the gold edge can be noticed.
Edit-I'm gonna Order the Gold...just Ordered the gold. And now I'm going to paint my classics optimus and Galvatron and sell them as "Lucky draws" hahahahahahahahahahaha Evil Laugh /off....but ill let you know how it works. I'm working on a Repaint. Gonna Call him TrickShot and im taking a Universe Sideswipe and coloring him with Flip-flop Green to Purple and gonna give him some gold chrome rims! Pimptastic! Might even airbrush some flames....but thats pushing it. So far ive filled in the ribbed part on the roof of the car with glazing putty. gonna sand it down smooth. And masked off all the crap that needs to be masked off. PICS soon to come

If you want a good gold effect, I recommend taking a loot at Jin's tutorials. Here's a link:

ok so heres an update on the House of Kolor stuff. The Mirror reflective paint tends to blush when cold. And when you warm up the area your spraying in it sprays great. but looks more like an aluminum finish. I do love the fact that theres no metallic grain. So its a smooth finish. The gold color...it looks like a gold brick. Flawless smooth no metallic flake either. I'm going to clear my parts today. So hopefully they get purdy when shiny

Is it worth the investment? From what you wrote it is.
