Classics Omnibots?

Okay, I started repainting Classics Prowl red, with a new head, originally intending on making an original character... when I realized that the color scheme I had chosen for the robot parts, with a little modification, would work well as "Universe Classics Overdrive". I'll get pics later when I get a new camera.

Meanwhile, that got me to thinking... who would be best as the other two Omnibots?

I was thinking Cybertron Red Alert (or either of the repaints) as Camshaft, to keep the whole "Robot chest is passenger compartment, but upright" bit... but for Downshift, the most obvious would be Classics Universe Sunstreaker. And I don't want to use Sunstreaker for that, as there's already going to be a mostly white version of that mold (Red Alert).

Any other suggestions for a "Classics Downshift"?

Cool idea! Can't wait to see how this turns out. I wouldn't of thought to use Prowl as Overdrive because of the difference in the cars but the bot mode works. Maybe you can change the Sunstreaker mold enough to work for your project, so you don't feel like its an unfinished red alert. Having trouble coming up with alternatives for camshaft. Good luck!

What head are you using. I'm trying to create a custom TFU Jazz

Great minds think alike sir. I am planning to customize Smokescreen into Overdrive, Cybertron Red Alert is probably the best available mold for Camshaft, even though I don't like that figure much. I made Downshift last year out of Cliffjumper with a Cybertron Bendy Prime head. Behold:

Excellent, would have never thought of that one.

BTW, my Overdrive is in the Repaints...

Thank you. I was rather proud of that one. I'm afraid to put him back in car mode due to paint chipping though.

I saw your Overdrive in the other section. Very, very nice work. I can't wait to get started on mine.

Okay, this may sound ridiculous, but given the windshield chest, the build of the legs, and the weaponry, what about using Animated Swindle for the body?

A military SUV is pretty far from a sports car, but the Cybertron Red Alert mold is only a hair better on that count.

Repainted and with some of the armor details sanded off, Swindle's alt could look like a gas-guzzling yuppie hummer, which is sort of like a sports car. :P

You could swap the head and, with a great deal of ingenuity, maybe the hands, to give it a 'classics' feel.

Hrms... I think it's more that the roof is the chest, rather than the windshield is the chest, that defines him to me. I think that getting a Bumblebee and repainting him (with a new head) would be closer to the idea for my tastes.

Oops, I suppose that was a bit unclear.

I was referring to Camshaft:
