Cut and paint Blackout

I was very disappointed that there wasn't a leader class of blackout, and I was even more disappointed with the fact that they let the size of the box decide how small the biggest character of the movie was going to be. on his own he looks pretty cool but you cant have him stand around most of the movie transformers because he looks like a smurf (scale-wise)

In the beginning there was this

what I always hated gadgets that interfere with the transformation. in this case the moving propeller thingy. because that's the reason his back does not tranform... that definitely had to go.I was not going to have a black out with his ass hanging out.

some parts had to be reassigned in robot mode, I had seen some customs with the tail taken off, but I wanted the tail of the helicopter to actually go somewhere in robot mode, and have Scorponok's cage in a more suitable location.
The biggest problem was the tail rotor it was constantly getting in the way. That had to be cut off very carefully and placed on Blackout's arm as seen in the movie.

new color palette is a combination of Medium, Blue, light sea grey, sky grey,
A bunch of very small - pain in the ass - decals . To add scale to the character
Decepticon logos on his arms and a hail megatron on the sides of the cockpit.

a turnaround is in order:

I would almost forget this little Scorponok. Her he is:

I always had the feeling I had to do something more on this character, but knowing when to quit is sometimes a good thing.

Nice paint job! Makes the figure much more respectable than it was to begin with.

Very nice, I like it a lot

Maybe you want to sharpen the blades?

It looks great! Love the custom blade. It's motivating me to paint mine. It's in the closet - the Hasbro version is too ugly to display until then. :D
