i know that this has been beaten to death, but i still needed to do mine. so here they are
thundercracker was done with my airbrush, where as skywarp was done by hand. both are done with enamel paints. they aren't 100%done as i'm sure you can tell. they need a couple of touchups and still have to decide what paint apps/decals to do to the wings and vertical stabs
anyone have any good tips for lessening the wear on some of the areas that rub when transforming??
hopefully the links work :D
cheers

Very nice! I like the clean paint job you've given them. As for lessening the wear, I wish I could help you but I'm currently looking for answers on that too. Can't wait to see them finished though!

Probably would require more serious detail work. If you apply something to the paint, I once read about applying a coat of super glue, would thicken areas prone to rub. Sanding would allow more room for paint application, but could cause other problems. I limit handling my repaints because I haven't found a good solution.

sanding and primering will do the job

and of course the ol' trick of super glue as a clear coat (use the gel one -and make some of the bot testing to see how does the glue reacts with the paint )

fantastic paint job -those babies scream for details ....

i tried superglue on a non-visible part and it bubbled the paint. could just be the glue i used, tried a clear coat, didn't really do much. going to try clear nail polish maybe. but i'm going to wait another week or so, just so that the paint has an adequate amount of time to harden on its own. the next one i'm doing is being sanded and primer is being going to be applied. when i post that one, i'll let everyone know how resistant it is
