This is my first real kitbash. Not just a repaint.

FINALLY! My first kitbash! Not just a repaint. I was playing with my Universe Dropshot and mis-transformed him and it gave me an idea. SOUNDWAVE!!! I stripped the weapons, tank treads, and other plastic bits to make Soundwave! I filed the head down to give it a more square shape. I couldn't figure out a way to give him a faceplate since I don't have the right tools right now so he actually has a mouth. I found a picture that some did of Soundwave without a mouth, so I figured I'll go with that. I did add a little piece of plastic on the forehead to give him that Soundwave look. I used a guitar pick!

By mis-transforming Dropshot, I was able to get that cassette player mode. The chest does not open but he looks line some Cybertronian computer or communications device. Also, I was able to transform him into his Cybertronian lamppost mode! Woo hoo!

So here he is, Classics Soundwave with 2 modes.

I was blown away when I noticed that I could transform him into the lamp post.

Lamp post alt-modes FTW!!

I really wanna see a Signal Lancer custom :P (from Cybertron/Galaxy Force, you know, the signal post)

I did think about making one from a Real Gear Spy Shot 6.

Could a mini cassette case be attached to the chest? Would the g1 (and reissues) fit a mini cassette case?

This is an awsome custom. I'm regretting passing up purchasing this figure.

It looks like the G1 cassette is too wide. If you were to cut out the chest, that might work. If you place the cassette vertically, it might fit better.

Those cannons rock for this custom, nice work.
You really need to give him the new head sculpt
or swap though.

I don't have the right tools for a head sculpt or swap. I've never done that so I did the best I could. If I could do that, I would use Cybertron Jetfire. He has kind of a Soundwave look.
