Universe Leo Prime tail mod

I somehow, stupidly, lost the tail/weapon to Universe Leo Prime, so I made a better one out of a spare Dr. Octopus tentacle (with internal wire) and the blade tip to Univ. Ironhide's cannon/blade weapon. See below, phone pics, sorry:
The result is a flexible tail in alt mode, and a more substantial weapon in robot mode. It clips into the original socket in alt mode via a coiled section of the internal wire, which is exposed when held as a weapon- looks like a little curly pigtail, not too happy with that. Still working on a good way for him to hold it, I may mod the base of the tail so it clips into his hand like the original.
What color should I paint the yellow details on the tail? Thanks for looking!
