ROTF Sideways

This guy has a really complex sculpt but a bad colour scheme so he really benefits from a repaint. I don't really have much more to say about him so, on with the photos!

If that isn't enough photos for you there are plenty more here!

really good stuff, he looks a lot better this way.
I'm still fixing the transformation possibilities of the sides of the hood so they look a bit better in robot mode.

I see you're not using the full transformation, you do know that you can turn those small triangle shaped parts upward next to his neck?
If you do that you can attach the backpack correctly to his back (like you are kind of doing now) they forgot to mention that in the manual again.
Im just saying in case you didn't see that... I didn't at first

I did not know that! Thanks, he looks a bit better, although it doesn't clip of very securely. I thought it was supposed to clip to the back of the triangles that you've just pointed out (without folding them up), but that made the backpack to obvious and high up. Where it's supposed to clip - I thought at first it was supposed to go there, but without folding up the triangles it won't reach!

I'll have to re-do the gallery now :-x

I like the detail and artistry in the paint bro! I'm still honing my craft (you can see my latest repaint Meatron Voyager in this forum), and I hope one day my work can look this great!

Why did you go with such a light color for the legs though? The CGI shows more black than silver. On my Sideways, I just painted the abdomen area in front to make the mostly red torso look better. I paintedthe 2 connecting stomach panels black. Left the red as I like a little bit of the red in there.

If you looked at my website (quick extra plug, I'm not having a go at you!) you would have read that I wanted to make it look like parts of the car make his legs. Cos in the cgi (where even the car parts seem dark) it looks like there are car parts all over the place!

I'll go look for your Megs now!

AH! I got ya! Well it looks great man! You definitely put a lot more work into your Sideways than I put into mine. have you seen the darker Sideways variant? He looks way cool.

I don't think so. I saw something about different markings on the side of the car but I didn't know there was a variation on the robot colour scheme. I'm not really bothered about how hasbro paint the things - they'll never do as good a job as me! Of course, others may not agree...

The attention to detail is just straight up sick. O_O

Excellent work, as soon as I stock up on paint I'm re doing my Sideswipe as well. The only thing that bums me out is the purple windows. But still great work excellent attention to detail and its nice to see dry-brushing isn't dying like i thought it was :)

Where did you grab the gun from?

Thanks to flix pointing out the error of my ways with the transformation I've had to redo some of the photos. These are in the original post.

I spent weeks trawling ebay for weapons for Blackout. That's just one of the guns I customized for Blackout then found a better one so gave that to Sideways. If you want to find your own, search for 'cannon' or 'gun' (although the latter tends to find pistols and rifles) on ebay and select modelling from the search refine options.

Man covering up that red on Sideways makes a huge dfference.. Nice work as always Myk.. I'm gonna eventally get around to working on sideways..I recently just found a color variant of sideways and the car body color is like a super dark graphite gray.. It looks wicked..

Sorry about that

Unless you're somehow responsible for Hazblo not including proper instructions with the fig in the first place, I don't see how you've got anything to apologize for.
